Operator Gr II, Multi Purpose X13 - Delmas at Exxaro Resources

PURPOSE:

• To operate all Grade II equipment as required (e.g. Secondary Equipment: Dozer; Grader; Water Truck; Low Bed; Compactor; Excavator; FEL; Mobile Screen and Bobcat).

Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 10/Standard 8 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
• AET Level 4 (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE: 

• 1 year  Relevant job-specific experience  (Essential/Minimum)  Operational

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence - Relevant Machine/Equipment (Essential/Minimum)
• Pub Driv Lic:Code EB (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Operations and Control    

•  Operate and control relevant equipment in alignment with standards and procedures
•  Equipment operated according to prescribed procedures to lengthen life of equipment and to minimize delays and financial losses
•  Operators provides services to deliver Magnetite, load road transport trucks from stock pile in other plants
•  Continuously monitor operating performance against standards to identify any sub-performance and report to Supervisor
•  Adhere to all safety procedures and practices during operation
•  Adhere to planned maintenance
•  Render support with ad hoc tasks in all relevant areas of the plants
•  Perform operational functional duties as per requirement of equipment being operated

Inspection and Control    

•  Pre-use inspection of equipment and report any defects to supervisor.
•  Clean operators cab
•  Fill equipment with fuel at service station where applicable

Maintenance    

•  Assist with planned/preventative maintenance and breakdown recovery where required
•  Conduct Plant cleaning and other ad-hoc tasks in other areas and Operate mobile screens at other areas where required.

•  Adhere to all health/safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
•  Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
•  Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC)/technical requirements
•  Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
