    Operations Supervisor Warehouse Degroup - Kempton Park

    Responsibilities

    • Managing the employee shift plan according to the roster and timeous arrangement of casual labour in an effort to meet daily production targets.
    • Coordinate the movement and storage of stock in the warehouse to the appropriate area, receipt of goods received onto Customer’s warehouse management system and ensuring goods are safely and accurately stored.
    • Manage Inventory and warehouse operations to meet contractual performance levels.
    • Coordinate and organise the picking of goods using the Customer’s warehouse management system, whilst ensuring complete and accurate system updates of inventory levels and supporting documentation are in place and filed in order to ensure a high level of service delivery to clients.

    • Recommend and as appropriate implement measures including the use of lean operational practices to improve the quality of service, increasing efficiency of the warehouse, work crew and equipment performance.
    • Ensure client specificaltions are implemented and standard operating procedures and systems are maintained.
    • Develop, maintain and where relevant adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands and implement plans to enhance and control the daily work flow of operations.
    • Maintain a healthy, safe, clean and secure warehouse and work environment, identify any potential risks and implement precautionary measures to protect employees.
    • Develop and establish relationships with internal teams and through these partnerships ensure seamless and quality service to the client.
    • Carry out the coaching, training, performance management and leading of work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialisation in receiving, picking, value added services, processing, storage, and loading.  
    • Ensure compliance of all relevant legislative requirements and that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with company specific regulations.
    • Implement processes to maximise productivity and ensure all departments are well organised.
    • Ensure stock accuracy by performing daily inventory counts.
    • On time communication verbal and written to warehouse manager 
    • Communication to outsourced trucking companies to comply with customer deadlines. 
    • Weekly vehicle check lists to be reviewed and maintenance of vehicles monitored and arranged with vehicle suppliers. 
    • Orders to be uploaded on E-Procure timeously and accurate. 
    • Check in with staff on progress of deliveries. 
    • Weekly meetings to raise any concerns with staff and Manager.

    Qualifications

    • 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations of which 3 years in a supervisory role 
    • Matric or Logistics Diploma advantage
    • Successful incumbent will be required to work day shift from 08h00 to 17h00 
    • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and processes
    • Strong, planning and organisational skills.
    • Must have a sense of URGENCY to handle extreme pressure and be able to meet strict
    • deadlines.
    • Identify problems, analyze trends and implement corrective and preventative actions.
    • Good communication skills (written & verbal).
    • Required to work weekends and public holidays when required 
    • Own transport will be an advantage
