    Operations Supervisor Warehouse Degroup - Kempton Park

    Responsibilities

    • Managing the employee shift plan according to the roster and timeous arrangement of casual labour in an effort to meet daily production targets.
    • Coordinate the movement and storage of stock in the warehouse to the appropriate area, receipt of goods received onto Customer’s warehouse management system and ensuring goods are safely and accurately stored.
    • Manage Inventory and warehouse operations to meet contractual performance levels.
    • Coordinate and organise the picking of goods using the Customer’s warehouse management system, whilst ensuring complete and accurate system updates of inventory levels and supporting documentation are in place and filed in order to ensure a high level of service delivery to clients.

    • Recommend and as appropriate implement measures including the use of lean operational practices to improve the quality of service, increasing efficiency of the warehouse, work crew and equipment performance.
    • Ensure client specificaltions are implemented and standard operating procedures and systems are maintained.
    • Develop, maintain and where relevant adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands and implement plans to enhance and control the daily work flow of operations.
    • Maintain a healthy, safe, clean and secure warehouse and work environment, identify any potential risks and implement precautionary measures to protect employees.
    • Develop and establish relationships with internal teams and through these partnerships ensure seamless and quality service to the client.
    • Carry out the coaching, training, performance management and leading of work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialisation in receiving, picking, value added services, processing, storage, and loading.  
    • Ensure compliance of all relevant legislative requirements and that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with company specific regulations.
    • Implement processes to maximise productivity and ensure all departments are well organised.
    • Ensure stock accuracy by performing daily inventory counts.
    • On time communication verbal and written to warehouse manager 
    • Communication to outsourced trucking companies to comply with customer deadlines. 
    • Weekly vehicle check lists to be reviewed and maintenance of vehicles monitored and arranged with vehicle suppliers. 
    • Orders to be uploaded on E-Procure timeously and accurate. 
    • Check in with staff on progress of deliveries. 
    • Weekly meetings to raise any concerns with staff and Manager.

    Qualifications

    • 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations of which 3 years in a supervisory role 
    • Matric or Logistics Diploma advantage
    • Successful incumbent will be required to work day shift from 08h00 to 17h00 
    • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and processes
    • Strong, planning and organisational skills.
    • Must have a sense of URGENCY to handle extreme pressure and be able to meet strict
    • deadlines.
    • Identify problems, analyze trends and implement corrective and preventative actions.
    • Good communication skills (written & verbal).
    • Required to work weekends and public holidays when required 
    • Own transport will be an advantage

    LCL Supervisor (SSD) - Durban

    Responsibilities

    Purpose and main tasks:

    • Ensure the accurate and timely movement of ocean freight to - and from specific locations within the service standards agreed with the Customer and as per instructions provided by the Country Customer Management.
    • Handle all Vendor facing communication and shipment related internal communication between DB Schenker stakeholders.

    Accountable.

    • Provide routing instruction to Origins based on the Shipping Instructions received from Country Customer Management.
    • Capture Customer Booking in TANGO and assign to Origin office (if applicable).
    • Activate and/or create Consol House, B2B and Handover shipment in TMS (TANGO).
    • Verify data entry quality and request corrections from Origin (if applicable).
    • Track cargo from POL via transshipment port until arrival in South Africa POD.
    • For B2B LCL monitor transshipment and update ETA and transshipment details (if applicable).
    • For B2B and handover LCL update shipment arrival information in TMS (TANGO).
    • For B2B and Handover LCL enter Warehouse Partner on CRR Leg.
    • For B2B LCL receive Co-Loader’s Arrival Notice.
    • 1Request cargo release information, documents, and freight invoice from Co-Loader - as applicable.
    • Ensure that Original MBL is surrendered to Co-Loader at origin or destination - as applicable.
    • Check actual shipment arrival date with Co-Loader and confirm in TMS (TANGO) - as applicable.
    • Create exceptional and accessorial income reserves and cost accruals in TMS (TANGO).
    • Check shipment arrival at CFS (Container Freight Station) and confirm in TMS (TANGO) – RIW.
    • Manage and resolve invoicing disputes with vendors.
    • Request update from/with MDM Team (Master Data Management) as applicable.
    • Send 'Shipping Advice' and 'Arrival Notice' to Consignee (Sender shown as "Customer Management").
    • Provide "Change Advice" to Consignee - as applicable.
    • Provide self-pickup instructions to Consignee - as applicable (Sender shown as "Customer Management").
    • Confirm self-pickup details in TMS (TANGO) - as applicable.
    • Determine optimal vendor, routing, and price for LCL trucking based on Country Customer Management recommendation or          as per agreed vendor matrix.
    • Provide delivery instructions to trucking vendors.
    • Send delivery details to Consignee - as applicable (Sender shown as "Customer Management").
    • Confirm delivery and complete Capture POD in TMS (TANGO).
    • Continuously monitor shipment pickup status at CFS (Container Freight Station).
    • Continuously provide storage details to Customer Management.
    • Prepare outgoing invoice and inform Country Customer Management to proceed with on-time invoicing.
    • Cross-check all cost accruals in TMS (TANGO) and ensure all applicable charges are included on the invoice.
    • Ensure that all accrued costs have corresponding revenues in TMS (TANGO).
    • Ensure each file Profit + Loss statement shows a profit and escalate “Loss” file information to Country Customer Management Team - as applicable.
    • Escalate invoicing discrepancies to Country Customer Management.
    • Timely and accurate completion of activities in TANGO.
    • Ensure compliance with Customer specific KPI's - as applicable.
    • Receive and/or upload relevant Vendor documents to TANGO (ODM).

    Responsible:

    • Act in a manner which increases Customer satisfaction and loyalty, maximizes shipment profitability and decreases operating expenses.

    Controller Hub (Imports) - Durban

    Responsibilities

    • Check acuracy of documentation against manifest, and capture manifest for all inbound cargo and trans-shipment cargo to ensure complaiance with Customs in SA and at the border.
    • Coordinate and control opening of HUB import shipment files ensuring all shipments are processed and controlled in accordance with Customs requirements. This includes the controlling of Customs stops and Insurance claims.
    • Arrange for the payment of vessel agent charges including the handover of
    • shipments for non-clearing to branches. All payments and charges raised need to be checked to ensure correct billing.
    • Ensure that invoicing is up to date and provide acurate cost, revenue and profit share data at file level. Control invoicing to ensure processing within 5 days after registration.
    • Timeous posting of invoices and closing of files on Schenkers internal system.
    • Optimise HUB processes and performance through the updating of the Event     control on the system to ensure a high level of adherence to ISO procedures and assist with the implementation of any improvements as and when required.
    • Interact with branches and provide support and information in response to enquiries and queries regarding shipment movement, unpacking, Customs queries etc.
    • Facilitate a seamless and smooth service delivery by assisting branches with any technical matters and documentary requirements related to ocean freight. 
    • Providing volume statistics to management.
    • Ensuring that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with company specific regulations.

    Qualifications

    • Matric or Senior Certificate
    • At least 1 years experience in Compu-Clearing / Cargo-Wise
    • Full knowledge and understanding of Incoterms® 2010
    • Intermediate knowledge of Word based programmes
    • Excellent communication skills internally as well as externally
    • Must be prepared to work after hours 
    • Understanding of Customs and other Industry related procedures
    • Must have at least 3 years experience in the shipping industry
