Operational Control Center Specialist (OCC) - Imports at DHL

Your Role

• Under the direction of the OCC Manager, you will be responsible to execute pricing, validate, adherence to standards and pricing instructions.
• You will be responsible to ensure Communication to business and Sales on Trade Lane Pricing levels and market overview.
• You will execute country-to-country pricing, pricing campaigns, MTS based BC pricing with Country OCC’s. (With the aim to Align MTS (Quote Shop) freight rates to net carrier buy rates with competitive mark-up.)
• Ensure network support and business volume growth on Trade.
• Weekly review with Sales on Trade pipeline opportunities.
•  You will Support Sales in selling/securing OFR on country level in terms of providing adequate solution design, routing proposals and factor-based pricing for prioritized opportunities (Provide Weekly feedback on top 10 new business opportunities and progress status)
• You will Run Weekly Quote Shop hit rate analysis and follow up on missed opportunities. (In order to Improve hit rate on Quote Shop quotes to 70%)
• Conduct Monthly meetings with Carriers on Trade. (To have full understanding of Carrier Services and Pricing structures. Maintain Carrier Service profile per Trade.)
• You will provide RFQ support on specific existing business RFQ’s and specific Trade and reporting requirement as per activity register.

 
In this OCC Specialist position

• Own and maintain 'Country OCC tariffs' within relevant templates and system.
• You will also provide assistance in the execution of OFR and commercial strategy in local OCC.
• Drive competitive and strategic pricing:
• Execute pricing campaigns (e.g., seasonal offers, trade lane market and special offers)
• Search for best pricing solutions in order to maximize profitability of OFR.
• Provide pricing for Sales growth on country level (including standard factor-based pricing methodology), support and follow up with Sales.
• Provide correct and timely feedback to GBT bids; answers GBT and region to region.
• Set up and maintain Tier 4 approach to local BC Sales
• Provide quick and aggressive responses to level 1 and 2 opportunities.
• Set up tariffs to answer level 3 and 4 opportunities.
• Monitor objectives in terms of profitability maximization and volume growth (e.g., on ITM lanes)
• You will be in charge to escalate need for decision making on risk taking through higher hierarchy levels.
• Adhere to and comply with rules and principles.
• Act as OFR subject matter experts in trainings, for customer visits, local OFR conferences, etc.
• Interact with customers in alignment with Sales.
• Interact and meet with Shipping lines and co-loaders to build relationships.    

   
Your Skills, Qualifications & Experiences:

• Deep knowledge of OFR forwarding business and market rates
• Strong project management skills and ability to cope with multiple bids in parallel.
• Strong analytical skills and good communication skills
• Commercial experience/capabilities
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving mentality
• Proven ability to negotiate with multiple carriers to obtain most competitive pricing/service.
• Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience as an OCC desk Specialist
• Industry related Degree
• Must have a matric
