    Manager: Performance Finance

    Mission

    • The purpose of this job is to ensure that the appropriate performance targets are set for EBU Direct Sales Force and other EBU sales channels. Also ensuring that sales commissions are calculated accurately and timeously per Sales Commission Policy to achieve the right performance behaviour in line with EBU operating model. 

    Key Performance Areas: 

    Operational Planning

    • Obtain translated targets and operational plans and compile action plans for execution for a year  or two ahead. 
    • Provide input into the long-term plan (1-2 years) for the Commercial Finance Unit
    • Consider the implications of these actions from a more broad perspective for the next year or two
    • Consider the impact of solutions on other areas of the business, as well as the interdependency  of units and contribute to address them appropriately
    • Review and recommend changes and/ or amendments to financial policies and procedures 
    • Assist driving best practice, continuous improvement and innovation at process and procedure  level 
    • Consider local conditions for solutions obtained through benchmarking, networking, readings etc.  and apply appropriate ways of handling them
    • Input into identifying ways to fine tune systems in line with changing work practices especially  those producing desired deliverables and services to the client and management

    Performance Management

    • Partner with the Sales channel to define periodic target setting principles and setting of the  targets thereof
    • Ensure target calculations are accurate with clear alignment to top line EBU business plan and  strategy
    • Provide target setting letters to each Sales resource and channels with requisite governance sign  off
    • Ensure queries are addressed and resolved timeously.
    • Provide input reports for each business area covering Sales resources to enable performance  management
    • Provide monthly reports and insights to EBU leadership on sales channels performance against  targets making recommendation on appropriate changes.

    Commissions Accrual & Claim Management

    • Implement and manage systems and processes ensuring that the commissions are be calculated in  accordance with the commercial contracts
    • Ensure that the sales commission calculations are accurate and complete, and payment requirements  are sent to payroll timeously with all required approvals
    • Ensure all subsequent reports to stakeholders are done timeously and accurately
    • Ensure commission policies and procedures are documented and followed accordingly and keep  current policy updated
    • Drive the automation of the commission calculation 
    • Assist in ensuring that legal agreements meet the requirements pertaining to commissions and  claims
    • Ensure queries are addressed and resolved timeously through the correct processes

    Managed audits

    • Ensure that all performance management governance and audit issues are addressed and resolved   timeously
    • Improve audit report rating by implementing adequate controls to mitigate risks
    • Review and provide input to financial policies & procedures, making recommendations as necessary
    • Keep abreast of technical updates and ensure compliance.

    Customer Service Satisfaction

    • Ensure customer centric service and delivery to the assigned areas based on requests and work  delivered based on value proposition
    • Ensure customer needs and requirements are satisfied through appropriate  systems/processes/procedures.
    • Ensure interaction between the various stakeholders to ensure timeous and accurate delivery of  deliverables
    • Manage stakeholders expectations, dealing with all queries with empathy but firmly in accordance  with established governance.
    • Ensure customer centric service and delivery to the assigned areas based on requests and work  delivered based on value proposition
    • Ensure customer needs and requirements are satisfied through appropriate  systems/processes/procedures.
    • Ensure interaction between the various stakeholders to ensure timeous and accurate delivery of  deliverables

    Education:

    • 3-year Degree / Diploma in Financial Management / Accounting / Internal Auditing or related

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years Finance / finance administration experience within Technology or FMCG environment 
    • Finance Experience within a Telecoms environment would be an advantage
