    Management Accountant - George

    The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure the reliability of financial information and reporting used within the organization for optimal decision-making and to support the business functions with information for business decisions. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated, positive, and passionate about performance, a resilient individual who can think laterally and who has strong analytical and proven numerical and accounting abilities.

    Qualifications    
    B Comm/ proven accounting field experience
    Preference for CIMA or SAIPA qualification, or similar

    • Strong Excel/ data handling abilities

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience    

    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant accounting & reporting experience, preferably within retail/manufacturing or similar environment.
    • Audit background / articles with reputable audit firm advantageous.
    • Practical knowledge of IFRS, IAS and other relevant accounting standards. 
    • Experience in financial reporting (experience in reporting packages advantageous) and budgeting processes.
    • Preparation of financial statements (Caseware or similar). 
    • Proficiency in the latest Microsoft (Word & Advanced Excel) and Gsuite packages is an essential requirement.
    • Good communication skills (both internal and external stakeholders).
    • A strong logical thinking and analytical ability with excellent numerical skills, business ratios and the ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.  
    • This person must be performance-driven and deadline-orientated.

    Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills.

    • Ability to remain flexible, function under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and work performance in a variety of circumstances.
    • Ability to multi-task and to deal with complexities, use initiative to solve problems. 
    • Ability to work independently, accept responsibility for workload, as well as be a team player.
    • Display leadership skills and ability to coach and supervise junior staff.

    Additional Requirements

    • Experience on MS Business Central accounting software or similar package would be advantageous.    
    • Possess an understanding of system policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Documenting and analysing business processes and suggesting improvements.
    • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Financial results reporting
    • Monthly and weekly sales reporting
    • Quarterly management reporting and pack preparation
    • Year end reporting
    • Budget, Three year plan and Forecasts
    • Assist in preparation and input of budget and forecast information for Group submissions
    • Variance reporting and analysis
    • Monthly spend against budget for cost centre owners.
    • Analysis of variances and communication with stakeholders

    Cost Management

    • Analyse, help identify and implement cost saving initiatives
    • Assist in driving cost efficiencies
    • Support the Brand with any related projects 
    • Preparation of annual financial statements (Caseware).
    • Assistance with internal & external audits, preparation of working papers.

    Various accounting responsibilities as required, including:

    • Balance Sheet Reconciliations – preparation as well as review thereof
    • Journals 
    • Provisions
