Maintenance Practitioner Planner- North West at Samancor Chrome

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, identify and communicate control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ statuses

PEOPLE

• Participate in recruitment interviews when required
• Coach and assist users on Planned Maintenance Functions on relevant systems according to Maintenance Management Manual

CUSTOMERS 

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction
• Regularly check success of the PM schedule in the field
• Incorporate suggestions from artisans, supervisors and production personnel to continuously improve the schedule in terms of safety, duration, cost and equipment reliability

BUSINESS PROCESSES 

Master Data:

Manage Master data such as

• Link new materials to Bills of Materials and update Bills of Materials on SAP
• Load New Task Lists and update existing Task Lists on SAP
• Capture, update and maintain maintenance plans on SAP
• Maintain plant master data (which include creation of material/service masters 

Schedule Preparation:

• Resource planning such as, but not limited to:
  • Arrange and chair weekly/shut down planning meetings
  • Allocate recourses
  • Create purchase requisitions materials / services
• Report discrepancies on a weekly basis
• Estimate cost of scheduled work for the week
• Communicate and issue the signed off schedule
• Print Work Orders as required

Work Analysis:

• Investigate W/O (work order) exceptions
• Produce various routine and special reports as required 

Contractor Management:

• Optimise resource levelling through the use of internal or contractor artisans for planned work
• Verify contractor attendance the week before the job is scheduled to start

Growth

• Manage continuous improvement through Operational Excellence

• Samancor Chrome Systems (IMS, EBMS, Chromedoc, SAP, Coupa, MES, Viziya)

Knowledge:

• Demonstrate an understanding of SAP PM and MM Module.
• Demonstrate an understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• National Diploma in Engineering or Planning (NQF 6)
• N6 Certificate
• Internal Samancor candidates – Relevant N3 studying towards N4
• 4 years’ experience, preferably one-year supervisory experience

Additional Qualifications:

• Trade certificate preferential
• SAP / Coupa Experience
