Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or diploma in logistics management.
• Valid Code EB driver’s license.
• Minimum of 5 years in a warehouse and distribution environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Strategy Execution

• Collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager to create and execute a 1 to 3-year regional operations strategy.
• Drive integrated supply chain benefits and strategic target achievement.
• Implement process and system improvements to optimize warehouse and transport efficiencies.
• Plan for medium and long-term operational capacity and asset utilization.
• Identify and develop solutions for supply chain bottlenecks through cross-functional collaboration.
• Monitor and achieve depot strategic and operational targets.

Logistics Management

• Ensure successful integration of business systems to support operations.
• Optimize stock movement and storage efficiency.
• Manage stock control and loss reduction programs.
• Optimize vehicle routes and requirements between depots.
• Drive continuous improvement in reverse logistics processes.
• Maintain high customer service levels while minimizing costs.
• Foster a culture of KPI awareness and recognition within the team.

 Risk Management

• Mitigate risks to people and physical assets.
• Ensure consistent application of Group risk management policies.
• Drive the risk committee process and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Maintain full legal compliance and manage sustainability practices.
• Implement food safety standards and conduct security investigations as necessary.

Information and Data Management

• Ensure accurate data capture and reporting for trend analysis and decision-making.
• Analyze daily management information to meet productivity and logistics targets.
• Suggest system changes to maintain data relevance and accuracy.

Maintenance Management

• Develop and drive a maintenance plan aligned with operational needs.
• Ensure optimal asset utilization through planned maintenance programs.
• Align maintenance practices with business standards.

Financial Management

• Compile and manage the annual distribution budget.
• Report on KPI performance versus budget and address non-conformance.
• Manage costs and optimize asset utilization.
• Authorize expenses and ensure compliance with financial standards.
• Implement cost-cutting initiatives while maintaining business sustainability.

Leadership

• Lead and develop the single depot management team to achieve strategic objectives.
• Maintain a stable IR climate and foster positive union relationships.
• Drive employment equity and champion training and development.
• Conduct performance appraisals and encourage skills transfer through workshops.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
