    Learning And Development Specialist - Johannesburg

    We are looking for a dynamic Leaning and Development professional to facilitate the end-to-end best practice in data analytics in response to the legislative reporting requirement. The successful candidate will support the L&D Manager through research, dashboard formulation and trend analysis of training measurement, managing the Work Skills Plan and Annual Training Reports for HWSETA, project manage the Skills Development verification process with the various auditing organisations, take ownership for end-to-end learning experience to provide a positive learning experience in which learners are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process and achieve learning goals and provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders on the content, implementation, uptake, and landing of learning events aligned to the desired learning outcomes. 

    Key duties and responsibilities:  

    Learnerships/YES Youth/Internships/informal learning

    • Take ownership for end-to-end learning experience to provide a positive learning experience in which learners are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process and achieve learning goals.
    • Manage and administrate learnerships, mentorship, or any other formal training deemed necessary for the development of the company's L & D strategy.
    • Adapt facilitation approach to meet various learning styles within the learning group and to maximise learning experience.
    • Engage Seta regarding Learnerships accreditation, implementation and grant applications.

    Data Analytics and Reporting

    • Facilitate the end-to-end best practice in data analytics in response to the legislative reporting requirement.
    • Produce internal as well as external (HWSETA, DoL, B-BBEE Scorecards, BEE Commissioner, Sustainability, Training Hours, Social & Ethics, etc.) reporting outputs.
    • Support the L&D Manager through research, dashboard formulation and trend analysis of training measurement.
    • Identify gaps in Anova’s learning data and make recommendations for potential process changes within business.
    • Provide learning insights, trend analysis and recommendations for the Training Committee and other relevant learning related forums.

    BBBEE

    • Project manage the Skills Development verification process with the various auditing organisations.
    • In collaboration with the Learning and Development Manager, formulate Anova Skills Development Strategies to maximise their Transformation Plans and their B-BBEE Skills Development Scores.
    • Consult business with regard to Skills Development Legislative requirements.
    • Implement BBBEE compliant Learnership programmes.
    • Deliver learning events, interventions and programmes aligned to business and learning needs.
    • Engage Seta regarding Learnerships accreditation, implementation and grant applications.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders on the content, implementation, uptake, and landing of learning events aligned to the desired learning outcomes.
    • Communicate all logistics, requirements and tools needed to the relevant coordinator to ensure the learning intervention runs smoothly.
    • Gather evaluation and feedback on learning intervention and compile relevant reports.
    • Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders on learner progress, participation, and performance.
    • Attend to stakeholder queries and keep upbreast with business developments to provide relevant Learning and Development solutions.
    • Be part of the Skills Development forum committee to stay aligned with the business trends and developments.

    Tracking, Evaluation and Record Keeping

    • Support the collation and record keeping of staff development plans, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE), and SETA/Sectoral skills needs initiatives and reporting such as Annual Training Report (ATR) and Workplace Skills Plan (WSP).
    • Keep trackers and consolidate reports as and when required including monthly, quarterly, annual reports for Skills, SETA & Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) and provide analytical insights from the reports.
    • Identify and deliver post learning initiatives to continually embed learning to enhance the learning process.
    • Administer assessment in line with relevant regulations and policies to determine competence of learners.
    • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping on the relevant systems.

    Support to L&D Manager and team

    • The successful candidate will support the L&D Manager through research, dashboard formulation and trend analysis of training measurement, managing the Work Skills Plan and Annual Training Reports for HWSETA.
    • Provide support to the Learning and Development Coordinator by conducting education and needs evaluation to assess the skills development needs of the organisation.
    • Contribute to the development of skills and capabilities of other members of the People function by coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
    • Responsibly for allocation and coordination of work, and supervision of Interns and Learners.

    Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in HR/Learning and Development
    • Minimum 5 -8 years relevant Learning and Development experience
    • Data quality and data governance concepts
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
    • Project management experience
    • Demonstrated project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with Annual Training Reports and Workplace Skills Plan.
    • Knowledge of SETA processes
    • Ability to engage stakeholders.
    • Interpersonal skills.
    • Flexible and able to adapt quickly.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
