    Investments Policy Contracts Administrator - Cape Town (Tygervalley)

    Purpose of the role

    • You will be responsible for the effective and efficient execution of the policy administration process to ensure the timeous issuing and amendments to new and current policies, whilst building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) namely brokers, clients, service providers.

    Role Summary

    • As an Investment Policy Contracts Administrator your duties will include reviewing existing policies, determining whether the policies are still in line with laws, regulations, and investment mandates. You will also be required to engage with external stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitoring and controlling the policy administration processes and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Setting up investment policies for new clients.
    • Drafting endorsements for changes in existing investment policies.
    • Receiving requests on investment policies and ensuring these are addressed.
    • Liaising with all parties on progress, sending to clients/consultants and filing of all investment policy documents.
    • Dealing with all escalated policy administration matters outside the investment mandate.
    • Assessing the business unit’s risk through performing party due diligence assessments for new and existing clients.
    • Maintaining a party due diligence register.
    • Setting up and maintaining investment policy templates for investment products and ensuring these are updated regularly.
    • Consulting with the legal department and ensuring that policies and policy amendments meet legal requirements.
    • Assisting with non-standard investment policies (Reinsurance, MSCI, ALM, Special Property, Alternative assets, Sustainable Infrastructure, Corporate debt).
    • Checking and setting up of annuity policies (individual, fund, and section 14 policies).

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric/Grade 12 with Maths/Accounting
    • 3 – 5+ Years relevant experience in a similar role.
    • Advanced ability to recommend new policies or amendments and prepare draft versions.
    • In-depth knowledge of legislative considerations relevant to policies.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of South African law – basic knowledge of financial services industry and the Pension Funds Act, Insurance Act and FAIS Act will be advantageous.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
