    Intensive Economic Strengthening Facilitators - Gert Sibande

    • REF: 8X TO BE BASED AT GERT SIBANDE

    JOB PURPOSE

    • Childline Mpumalanga is seeking to appoint an IES Facilitator to provide training on entrepreneurship, employability, financial literacy, and sexual harassment in group settings.
    • The incumbent shall coordinate and oversee the implementation of Economic Strengthening activities and mentors and support the participants. be responsible for working with groups of vulnerable young women in safe spaces in the community.
    • Establish a trusting relationship with the young women in the different groups and provide mentoring in IES activities and referrals to essential services to ensure young women are empowered, remain healthy, and HIV-free. The Mentor will work under the supervision of the IES District Coordinator.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Facilitate the enrolment of 20-24 Young women into IES project. 
    • Facilitate profiling and needs assessment of young women. 
    • Develop savings plan with participant and follow up on progress. 
    • Provide foundational training.
    • Provide any other training that may be deemed appropriate and beneficial to the participant. 
    • Provide ongoing mentoring and support to young women enrolled in IES intensive. 
    • Support participants to develop personalized career and savings plans.
    • Prepare and support young women or beneficiaries for employment. 
    • Continuously review young women’s progress against the identified career path and savings plan 
    • Provide social support, assist with problem-solving, and carefully monitor participant safety, with special attention to young women that have been linked to private sector opportunities.
    • Link young women to business networks and organizations providing supportive services to young entrepreneurs. 
    • Generate daily and weekly reports.
    • Provide training to mentors on a mentor manual featuring guidance on providing individualized support to participants
    • Cascade trainings to mentors, observe trainings, and use the supportive supervision materials provided 
    • Supervise and manage a group of mentors and ensure quality assurance for all training 
    • Regularly review mentor notes and follow up to ensure participant satisfaction with mentors.
    • Ensure participant safety and safeguarding incidents are attended to timeously and effectively 
    • Report on progress, challenges and local risk management to the District Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Completed High school education (Grade 12 Certificate)
    • Female 24 — 35 years’ old
    • Lives in the community within the District where the project will be implemented (Gert Sibande, Ehlanzeni and Nkangala)
    • 1-year experience in community work (Community CBO Voluntary, Community Care worker, IES Mentor & Facilitator experience will be an advantage)
    • Passionate about empowering young women and Knowledge of youth development programmes
    • Ability to train, coach and mentor IES Youth Workers(Mentors)
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Live in the community where the DREAMS project will be implemented
    • Be able to communicate effectively in English and at least 1 other local language
    • Ability to work under pressure and must have strong interpersonal skills
    • Flexible and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities.
