    Head of Tsebo Workplace Design

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Business Development/ Commercial management

    • Develop and grow the sales pipeline and regularly track and report conversion against required parameters.
    • Maximise divisional upsell and Group cross sell
    • Promote TWD brand awareness by maintaining marketing material, developing case studies and publishing news-worthy opinion pieces via Group Marketing.
    • Set, refresh and communicate pricing rates to wider team to constantly ensure competitiveness
    • Ensure commercial risk assumptions are adequately provided for in all client pricing
    • Screen and secure commercial and legal approval for all client pricing to ensure it meets divisional hurdle rates in terms of profitability and commercial risk parameters

    Compliance

    • Submit regular and ad-hoc governance reports, including for Operations and Executive committee Boards
    • Ensure divisional sub-contractor and consultant compliance at all times to Company and Divisional Policy
    • Ensure all Services delivered to clients are legally compliant at all times including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety.
    • Ensure the PMO central documentation repository is accurate and complete including processes and standard operating procedures “SOP’s”
    • Ensure SOP’s are always aligned to current industry best practice and legislation

    Financial Management

    • Develop budgets and forecasts.
    • Deliver cost centre EBIT target and review, analyse and report performance against budgets and projects.
    • Monitor project costs and operating costs and review labour allocation to constantly optimise profitability.
    • Monitor and pro-actively resolve debtors and creditors to ensure cash flow remains within set parameters.

    Workplace Professional Consulting, Design, Project Management and Change Management Service Delivery

    • Setup and ensure efficient and effective operation of a Project Management Office “PMO”.
    • Ensure risks, be they legal, brand, financial or commercial, are effectively reported, escalated, mitigated and managed.
    • Ensure availability of a suitably qualified and screened variable resource pool
    • Ensure project plans, project cost cards and sales pipelines are always up to date
    • Ensure Project scope is constantly monitored, and commercial interventions are actioned pro-actively to protect project profitability

    Skills and Competencies

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Excellent current knowledge of Corporate segment Workplace trends, cost drivers, supply chains and risk factors
    • Excellent grasp of financial concepts, from Income Statement to Balance Sheet, Debtors, Creditors and Cash Flow
    • Commercial negotiating skills
    • Sub-contractor agreement development and negotiation skills including SLA’s and Rate Cards
    • Fully conversant in current design and build compliance regulations and legislation
    • Ability to lead and manage complex matrix and remote teams across disciplines on deadline driven projects
    • Advanced PowerPoint “sales pitch” development skills including graphics
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Advanced report writing skills
    • Proficient in current design and project management technologies and software
    • Advanced client and stakeholder relationship management skills
    • Prolific Networking skills
    • High level of Emotional intelligence
    • Ability to work in changing environment

    • Leading and managing matrix and remote teams

    Qualifications

    • Interior Design Qualification
    • Project Management Qualification - Prince2; Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
    • 10 years’ experience in the Corporate workplace space, design and build industries
    • 5 years in a leadership commercial business development role
    • 10 years’ experience managing project fit outs and supply chains from conception through to occupation
    • Proficiency in people relate processes
    • Ability to travel
