An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Quality, Regulatory and Compliance at Indigo Brands, Cape Town. As the successful incumbent you will be responsible for providing a vision and Strategy for Quality, Regulatory adherence and Compliance to the business.

Key Performance Areas:
Develop a Vision for Quality, Regulatory adherence and Compliance in the business
- Develop a framework to encompass the regulatory and compliance requirements of the business
Define Quality Policy and lead the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the business
- Advise the Indigo executive in the Development of the business quality standard
- Responsible for communicating the Quality Policy throughout the business
- Define how the QMS should operate for the business
- Lead the management review process
- Lead all activities to retain the Company’s certification systems
Leadership of staff and resources
- Responsible for training, motivation and performance of the Quality personnel
- Determine and control Quality Team budget
- Compile and implement relevant SAP reports
- Innovation and Trends - keep up to date with ways to improve and ensure efficacy and efficiency of current protocols within the quality environment
Lead the setting of the Audit Schedule and Inspection criteria
- Setting GMP auditing standards
- Setting internal audit schedule
- Manage external audits by retailers/licensee/inspection bodies or any other relevant party
- Lead the approach to ensure up-to-date QC inspection plans on SAP for all areas
- Ensure compliance of SANS 1841
- Ensure proper maintenance of standards, PRT’s and retain samples
- Lead the approach to ensuring compliance of incoming packaging according to COC’s, AQL and standard specifications
Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice across the business
- Maintain GMP standards in the company by liaising with the Production/Plant Manager, Manufacturing Section Leader and Operations Executive
Evaluate Customer Complaints
- Lead the processing of complaints of products involved in allergy and QC related complaints ensuring corrective and preventative measures are taken.
- Assess AVI Group methodology and reporting. Adopt as appropriate
Management of the QC Laboratory including Microbiology
- Lead the planning and delivery of raw material and bulk analysis
- Plan both microbiological testing of product and environmental monitoring to deliver assurance of minimal occurrence of contamination
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- 7 years’ experience as a Quality, Regulatory or Compliance Specialist of which at least 3 years’ at management level
- 7 years’ experience FMCG experience
- 5 years’ experience working in the Cosmetic/Personal Care industry
Qualifications:
- BSc Honours Degree in Science or Engineering
