    Head Data Culture and Awareness, Data and Analytics

    Job Purpose

    In this role, you will focus on pioneering a culture that supports the interest, engagement and useability of data and analytics within the overall organisation. You will need to cooperate with different stakeholders, IT teams and the internal Data domain team. The role provides an opportunity to understand the Standard Bank business, the platform journey, our current processes, shape and simplify future process, enhance analytical skills, and make significant impact.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    Client

    • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation to provide organisational change guidance to ensure the successful delivery and execution of Data and Analytics strategy and vision and to build a strong data culture by equipping all stakeholders across the Group with the skills they need to leverage data that enhances data-led decision-making.

    • Develop an overall and deep understanding of the Data and Analytics strategy and deliverables to identify the potential impact of each initiative to articulate and design relevant organisational change interventions in support of the change, leading the change and working towards and the data-led organisational target state.

    • Build relationships with key stakeholder ensuring that regular engagements are performed to identify change management needs, and proactively design and execute interventions in support of Data and Analytics strategy across the group.

    • Drive a group-wide shift to a data-driven culture and workforce that is client focused, business led through shared data and insights, goals and incentives and data skill programmes

    • Provide expertise to design, deploy and measure culture change actions to address identified requirements to meet the Data and Analytics strategy and objectives across the group.

    • Develop and conduct capability assessments for data skills, used by domains, countries and corporate functions to identify skills gaps. Work closely with People and Culture and other relevant business partners to address the skill gaps by giving input to the selection of the most appropriate learning methodologies and modules and negotiating the terms with the most appropriate service providers and or vendors.

    • Work collaboratively with Learning and Development business partners to assess the validity and accuracy of data learning interventions and guide decision making ensuring international leading practice in terms of data culture change learning interventions are delivered.

    • Influence and guide People and Culture business partners in the development of a new strategic approach to applying incentives, using performance management to incentivise the required data culture and identify training and development needs across the group.

    • Collaborate with Learning and development business partners and external vendors and service providers in developing new ways and approaches of delivering learning and training, resulting in a data-driven culture and workforce that is client focused, business led through shared data and insights

    Strategy

    • Drive effective Organisational change and culture change by developing and implementing proven standards, frameworks and toolbox to guide execution of Data and Analytics strategy across the Group.

    • Develop and implement Data and Analytics change strategy, covering integrated change strategies, interventions and initiatives for effecting change, managing change and supporting people to adapt to change in support of the Data and Analytics strategy in consultation and collaboration with People and Culture business partners.

    • Design and execute data culture and change management strategies and plans which impact people processes and systems, to inculcate a data led culture that supports the objectives vision and strategy of a data-driven platform organisation.

    • Apply consistent and integrated knowledge, skills, abilities, methodologies and principles to inculcate a data-led culture across the organisation enabling the Data and Analytics strategy.

    • Lead the organisational change management and culture initiatives across the organisation and platform partners, creating recognition, awareness and acceptance of data as a strategic asset.

    • Apply international best practice in organisational change and culture practices in support of the standardisation of data and analytics management practices across the Group, encouraging and enabling a uniform and consistent view of data across the organisation. Promote the concept of enterprise level Integrated Client Data, ensuring an integrated data landscape and infrastructure across all ecosystem partners.

    • Design a communication strategy in support of the change strategy for Data and Analytics and develop and disseminate communications and stakeholder relations plans for ongoing change efforts, delivering on the integrated change communications plan for Data and Analytics in consultation and collaboration with People and Culture Business Partners.

    • Contribute to the definition of the desired culture for Data and Analytics through the design of proven change standards and best practice and leading the transformational change agenda across the organisation.

    • Formulate plans and messages to communicate and inculcate the desired culture and target state for change as guided by the Data and Analytics strategy.

    Data

    • Design metrics to assess and measure the impact of change interventions and benefits realisation of Data and Analytics strategy execution enabling the Data driven platform organisation agenda and roadmap.

    • Define and implement a model for the measurement of success for the cultural change initiatives and change effectiveness measures to track, measure and report on successful execution.

    • Track and improve communications based on content analysis, metrics, user feedback, and marketing research, ensuring accurate and successful data culture messaging.

    Technology & Architecture

    • Develop and implement industry leading standards, framework and toolbox to drive process organisational change and data culture initiatives across the Group.

    • Prepare all leaders and employees for the future of work by developing, implementing and embedding a change management framework ensuring adoption, education and a greater understanding of the requirements and challenges of a data-led organisation.

    • Design, plan and execute organisational change management activities that will transition the organisation from a current state to a desired future data-led and data-driven state, supporting the desired outcomes/or business objectives.

    • Drive and inculcate a culture where new business opportunities are identified with data monetisation potential, whereby stakeholders across the organisation identify and address pain points and inefficiencies in infrastructure and governance that hamper data monetisation potential.

    • Provide organisational change management tools, technique and templates for execution of Data and Analytics programmes (booklets, playbooks, etc.) in support of the Data and Analytics strategy and agenda across the organisation.

    • Design internal and external communication plans and deliver targeted communication messages that will drive and embed the Data and Analytics strategy aligned to and in consultation with Group Communications and People and Culture Business Partners

    • Facilitate workshops / sessions / guilds to keep transformational change relevant and visible across the organisation and to build the capability among its leadership.

    • Write executive communications, including but not limited to feature stories, video scripts, blogs, persuasive messaging, promotional materials, op-eds, and web content in support of the Data and Analytics strategy and agenda.

    Financial Management

    • Forecast and secure the budget associated with the scope of the Organisational Change and culture function by performing detailed planning, in partnership with Data and Analytics Finance partners, gaining acceptance for revenue and operational budgets.

    • Monitor and control the Organisational Change and culture function budget expenditure against the forecast and assume accountability for costs in line with organisational parameters and report to the relevant forums.

    People

    • Advocate the critical role played by Data & Analytics as a strategic asset to deliver the data driven Platform organisation. Motivate the leaders and employees across the Group to help transform and establish a data culture through guidance, education and awareness initiatives to support the journey to increased data monetisation.

    • Facilitate knowledge sharing and the adoption of successful change management and culture change practices enabling alignment with industry standards and best practices on organisational change management.

    • Manage demand and resource capacity (planning/ effective utilisation) of Change Managers, responsible for resource utilisation and cost management of the change management and culture function in Data and Analytics.

    • Collaborate with People and Capital business partners to influence the people strategy and contribute to performance and talent management, resourcing, development, career pathing and retention of key employees in pursuit of establishing and maturing a data-driven platform organisational culture where everyone in the organisation adopts a mind-set of data culture.

    • Identify the behaviours to change to transform the culture of the organisation and define and develop action plans to change identified behaviours, in consultation with the People and Culture function and other key stakeholders.

    • Deliver effective change management support to stakeholders enabling change to be successfully embedded and benefits delivered across the organisation.

    • In concert with the Organisational Change Practice, champion process change and cultural change to inculcate a data led culture that supports the objectives of a data-driven platform organisation.

    • Identify, create and share working practices for organisational change management across the organisation to realise the Data and Analytics strategy.

    Risk, Regulatory, Prudential & Compliance

    • Govern and lead the execution of the Organisational Change and culture across the Group ensuring alignment to and in achievement of the Data and Analytics strategy.

    • Implement the Technology Risk Management standard within the Organisational change and culture function ensuring alignment of risk management processes, procedures, frameworks, methods and tools to Group policy, regulatory requirements and the change management toolbox and standards.

     

    Preferred Qualification and Experience

    Qualifications

    • Post Graduate Degree in Business Commerce or Information Technology

    • Certification in Agile Methodologies (PMI-ACP or other industry standard certification)

    • Change Management Certification 

    • Industry Related Certification or membership (Preferred)

    Experience

    • 8 - 10 years experience in Change and Communication

    • 8 - 10 years experience in Business Partnering and Service Management

    • 8 - 10 years experience in Business Support

    Technical Competenies

    • IT Strategy and Planning

    • Organisation Change Management

    • IT Knowledge
