    FSRM Senior Associate

    The opportunity 

    The work we do isn’t about providing ‘off-the shelf’ solutions; so, we will train and coach you to develop a set of core consulting skills that will be transferable across a broad range of projects. You’ll work as part of high-performing teams on a broad range of financial services clients and assignments that will stretch and challenge you. You’ll be encouraged and expected to take accountability and make an impact.

    Your key responsibilities 

    The scope of the work that you can expect to be involved in will include supporting our clients across a range of risk-related topics, such as Governance, Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk. This also includes the ability to assess policies and procedures in order to identify gaps to regulatory requirements and provide remediation plans or recommendations. You can expect to be working on client assignments across the industries we serve - banking, insurance, and wealth and asset management. You'll actively establish internal and external relationships and identify and escalate potential business opportunities for Ernst & Young within existing engagements.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A professional qualification in finance, risk management or legal
    • Certificate in Money Laundering Control or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist
    • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a conduct-related risk/compliance management role within financial services, either in an industry line function and/or consulting capacity with a focus on regulatory advisory
    • Experience in analysing and monitoring risks related to Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Compliance in a banking environment or similar would be highly advantageous
    • Previous experience of exposure to regulatory requirements across pan-African jurisdictions would be an advantage
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
    • An understanding of how conduct regulation affects people, processes and systems of a financial services organisation
    • Proficiency with MS Office
    • Additional experience based in the Exchange Control Regulations, Collective Investment Schemes Act, Financial Markets Act, Pension Fund Act and related regulation would be an advantage

    • Ability to understand and adapt to changing regulatory and legislative requirements
    • An interest in continuous self-development 
    • Complex problem-solving capabilities
