About the Job

• The Mr. Price Group has an exciting career opportunity available within our Real Estate Division for a Finance Manager. It takes a highly organised, self-motivated and energetic individual with true commitment to thrive in this results driven environment.
• You will be responsible for managing the divisional financial and budgets of the divisions, together with all risks and projects, and also provide strategic support to management of existing real estate through renewals and right sizing of stores in line with accounting principles and standards.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Development

• Contribute to the development of the divisional strategy through appropriate planning to achieve divisional KPIs

People & Workflow management

• Management of the Real Estate Finance Clerks to ensure efficient distribution of work and that they meet the required deadlines.
• Provide guidance and support to real estate managers to enhance their skills and results

Research & Analysis

• Keep abreast of new developments within the designated geographic scope to:
  a. Conduct feasibility analysis, and
  b. Share insights (re. availability, measurements, capex & commercial metrics in order for divisions to determine new store feasibility. This involves on-site investigations when necessary
• Continuously monitor and track completion of feasibility studies from divisions to ensure that it is coming through the pipeline
  Use research and data analytics to contribute to the annual store review

Stakeholder Engagement

• Acts as the interlink between the real estate and landlords to ensure smooth business operations.
• Build & maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to contribute to and influence decision-making with regards to financial management and external providers to ensure satisfactory standards of service.

Budgeting and Financials

• Monitor and track divisional budgets, expenses and projects to maintain a view of costs across the business and ensure accuracy of reporting.
• Provide expertise and advice to management to assist with budget development, financial reporting, forecasts, projections and control

Reporting

• Provide regular reports, feedback and updates to management
• Completion of quarterly board packs through liaison of divisional stakeholders
• Assess risks and makes recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business situation and reports on these as Risk Champion

Requirements

• Registered Chartered Accountant with 2 – 3 years post articles experience
• Basic commercial and property law knowledge
• Negotiation skills
