Finance Manager at AVI Limited

• The purpose of the role is the management of the financial accounting team and internal controls relating to all legal entities of the AVI retail business, ensuring accurate financial records and timeous reporting to AVI.

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage and monitor company accounting procedures, policies and internal controls
• Ensure monthly and annual financial statements are in compliance with IFRS, Monthly maintenance of the general ledger, and related general ledger reconciliations.
• Management of the month-end and year end reporting process
• Manage external audit process
• Management of team
• Ensuring accurate and timeous financial reporting and submissions
• Ensure timeous completion and submission of the provisional income tax returns, annual income tax returns and monthly VAT returns
• Manage local and foreign cashflow (forecasts and payments) and SARB Excon approvals
• Management and oversight of SAP GRC, including related access controls, as well as reporting requirements in terms of BBBEE and Stats SA
• Assistance with ad hoc requests from business and various finance projects

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

• 3 years’ post articles experience
• Articles completed at one of the Big 4 Audit firms highly advantageous
• Previous Financial Reporting and Project management experience

Qualifications:

• CA (SA)

• Understand and adhere to systems of internal control
• Compile, monitor, and examine all reports for accuracy and integrity and conformance to accepted accounting and program guidelines
• Financial, analytical and reporting skills (IFRS knowledge)
• Previous working knowledge of the retail industry
• Proven practical management skills
• Clear understanding of financial controls and the importance of data integrity
• Understanding of systems and how these impact on the business
• MS Office proficiency (Advanced Excel), SAP
• Sound understanding of all local tax regulations
