    FA Specialist Reconciliation (North West)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • To monitor, maintain and optimize the material reconciliation processes within all Western Chrome Mines metallurgical plants and mines.

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

    • Identify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
    • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
    • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox
    • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.

    PEOPLE:

    Manage the Section:

    • Ensure an enabling climate/culture
    • Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover
    • Labour complement in line with budget
    • Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Section
    • Manage performance against set targets and competencies
    • Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
    • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
    • Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
    • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
    • Conduct recruitment interviews
    • Coach and mentor MES Administrators.

    CUSTOMERS:

    • Ensure Customer Satisfaction (Finance, Survey, Mining, Logistics and Corporate)
    • Build strong and transparent relationship with the Logistics SAP and Recon coordinator in order to continuously improve processes and reporting efficiencies
    • Key Customers: Marketing, Logistics, Mining, Survey.

    BUSINESS PROCESSES:

    Ensure the safe and compliant operation of the WCM Reconciliation processes:

    • Monitor daily capturing of all MES to ensure quality and compliance to deadlines
    • Monitor and ensure correctness of MES reports
    • Monitor and address production quality on the external plants and follow up on deviations
    • Facilitate regular saleable stocks audits on all WCM sites, including external plants on supply agreements.
    • Facilitate mid-month and month-end stock reconciliation meetings and communicate feedback
    • Monitor and ensure compliance to sign-off of plant production certificates for all areas
    • Responsible for consolidation of WCM Weekly and Monthly forecast and discussion with Mine, Metallurgy and Finance Managers before distribution
    • Facilitate all stock discrepancy investigations where required, ensuring to involve all stakeholders.
    • Ensure all reconciliation processes are aligned with group ore policy and contractual obligations
    • Establish new procedures and improve existing procedures to ensure effective recons
    • Compile, discuss and sign off all external plant recons timeously
    • Ensure integrity of monthly metallurgical reports as BU inputs
    • Liaise with the Superintendent - Ore balances and Projects, to ensure accuracy of inputs in the company ore model
    • Optimize MES reports to ensure effective communication of data for daily decision making.

    Logistics Specific Business Process:

    Review and approval of Reconciliations:

    • Weekly review and approval of all reconciliations captured for:
    • Opencast Movements to External plants
    • Open Cast movements to Internal plants
    • Export collections from External plants
    • Smelter collections from External plants
    • Any Adhoc movements approved by the Logistics HOD.
    • Any daily deviation of +5% should be brough under the attention of the Logistics HOD for review and approval per movement where Load rite data and Weighbridge data are not aligned.
    • Any discrepancy between the reconciled movements and the MES system must be brought to the attention of the departmental HOD’s for both Logistics and Metallurgy.
    •  Ensure adherence to the WCM month end close off timetable of the Logistics SAP and Recon Clerk.

    Verification of External Plant recon transportation rates and application per month according to agreed internal movement rates and tons moved.

    • Recon tons received to MES and WCM Recon tons dispatched
    • Verification of applied transport rate as per rate schedule per plant
    • Measure and track application of recon rates charged, to the transport rate sliding scale per route.

    Finance specific business processes:

    • Verify & reconcile ore credit tonnage on month-end recon from external plants with WCM dispatches.
    • Verify final product tonnage on month-end recon from external plants with WCM dispatches and/or product on the floor as per contract.
    • Verify final product pricing inputs and calculation from external plants as per contract and WCM results.
    • Verify transport rates & tonnage on month-end recon from external plants with contract & WCM dispatches respectively.
    • Approve external plants invoices as per month-end recon for processing
    • Implement mini month-end process for external plants to ensure timely & accurate reporting.
    • Monitor external plants quarterly performance as per contract & activate penalty clauses where applicable.
    • Verify inputs on indicative PGM credit calculation according to the contract.
    • Submit recommendation for approval of final PGM credit calculation.

    GROWTH:

    • Improve WCM Metallurgical Accounting Practises by staying abreast with industry best practice.

    SHAREHOLDER VALUE:

    • Ensure integrity of metallurgical accounting processes, hand in hand with the WCM Chief Surveyor
    • Ensure integrity of reconciliation processes working closely with the Logistics SAP and Recon clerk.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • BSc / BTech degree or NHD in Metallurgy of Chemical Engineering
    • 6 years’ relevant metallurgical experience in chrome
    • 2 years relevant experience in Logistics
    • 2 years’ experience in a senior role.

    Additional qualifications:

    • MDP will be highly advantageous.
