    Executive Head: Intermediaries

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The Executive Head of Intermediaries has overall responsibility for strategy, leadership, and management of the Hollard Life Solutions affluent and mass advisor business, including accountability for: P&L, growth and profitability. The role also has responsibility for managing the tied agency relationships, all independent distributions channels, owned networks, and any other forms of partnerships

    Required Knowledge and Experience    
    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Set strategic business objectives and financial goals and create an environment to ensure achievement of annual Financial targets
    • Work with the CEO, CCO and CFO to ensure an appropriate Life Distribution Strategy for the portfolio.
    • Develop business plans and drive associated delivery
    • Drive the delivery of Value-added services to the channel that will enhance Hollard’s proposition to advisors
    • Oversee the effective and timeous identification of the channel’s needs and resolution to challenges
    • Grow new business by having the thought leadership to identify strategic alliances and opportunities for new Advisors, products and channels
    • Manage advisor and channel relationships by constantly balancing relationships and business priorities
    • Identify strategic opportunities for new Advisors, channels and maintain existing Advisors and channels.
    • Engage the Advisor team to enable the delivery of all strategic initiatives
    • Manage risk within the Advisorbusiness whilst ensuring that sales targets are maintained
    • Understand legislation and its application of products to ensure compliance with legal & regulatory requirements
    • Manage Hollard Advisor Mass market team to enable sustainable business result
    • Work closely with product and underwriting in order to remain relevant and drive growth
    • Work with support functions to help drive efficiency and grow our digital aspirations in the business

    Educational Requirements    
    Required Education: 

    • 4 year commercial degree (E.g. Bcom, Business Science, Engineering, Actuary) minimum
    • Post Grad qualified, with MBA advantageous
    • 8-10 years related experience in Life assurance and intermediary distribution
    • 7-8 years senior management experience, with previous executive experience highly advantageous
    • RE Exams will be advantageous

    Required Experience: 

    • Experience in managing a business, with in depth understanding of life insurance business
    • Leading a diverse team and enabling them to deliver on strategic initiatives
    • Managing an Advisor division within financial services preferably in insurance
    • Familiarity with the relevant legislation (FAIS, RDR, FIC etc.)
    • Driving business delivery through external stakeholders
    • Good stakeholder management
    • In depth understanding of the workings of the independent financial advisor landscape and how to win in this space
    • Strong analytical skills
    • In-depth insurance knowledge
    • General business acumen
    • Market and competitor knowledge
    • Financial understanding
    • Strategic thinking skill
