Endpoint Security Administrator at South African Reserve Bank

Brief Description        

• The purpose of this position is to perform hands-on technical support and administration as well as to maintain endpoint security technologies and solutions for the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group.

Detailed Description        
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

Administer and maintain endpoint security technologies by performing daily health checks.

• Provide first level support on cyber security solutions to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose problems, choose and/or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions/approaches for problems within a defined context.
• Facilitate the regular review of technical configuration documentation and maintain back-ups of technical configurations.
• Coordinate the activities related to service requests and incidents, to ensure timeous resolution thereof.
• Provide regular reports and status updates (daily, weekly and monthly as defined) to team leader and members.
• Manage relationships with all stakeholders, role players and service providers to ensure commitment to a common goal.
• Define own work plan and deliverables with guidance from the team lead.
• Perform work independently within established practices, given processes, rules and regulations.
• Proactively broaden knowledge of functional area, displaying willingness to make improvements in own work, and address task specific learning needs and relevant certification requirements.

Job Requirements        
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

• an NQF5 qualification in Cyber/Information Security or an equivalent qualification;
• internationally recognised security OEM Product Specific Certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Symantec or Sophos);
• one to two years’ experience in information technology (IT); and
• IT security exposure, which is a key requirement for this role. Further requirements include:
• the availability to perform functions outside of normal working hours and to provide 24-hour standby support on a round-the-clock service basis as per standby schedule
