e-Learning Instructional Designer - Centurion at Datacentrix

• Managed Talent Solutions client is looking for an e-Learning Instructional Designer for one of their client based in Centurion. This is a contract role until March 2024. The candidate will be required to assist with the design and development of e-learning training materials. Must have an Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, UX, ETDP, Curriculum Development, Learning Design QA or a related field qualification.

Requirements and Skills:

• A qualification in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, UX, ETDP, Curriculum Development, Learning Design QA or a related field.
• Relevant minimum 2 years’ experience as an instructional designer.
• Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
• Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
• Solid knowledge of course development software and at Moodle Learning Management System [LMS].
• Ability to storyboard.
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
• Excellent time-management skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Role Summary:

• Create/revise/editing supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.) using Adobe Captivate/ Articulate/ Moodle/ PowerPoint/ Adobe InDesign, as well as any other relevant software which is SCORM compliant.
• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer.
• Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs.
• State instructional end goals and create content that matches them.
• Visualise instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.
• Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
• Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods.
• Apply project management skills, business acumen, and relationship management skills.
• Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments.
• Utilise LMS reporting capabilities and developing custom reports to assist with planning and managing training and development initiatives.
• Share knowledge and build skills of team resources.
• Design and develop course storyboards, templates and scripts for e-learning and virtual live training.
• Upload and work with other team members to configure e-learning content into the learning management system.
