    Dramatic Arts Teacher

    The Diocesan School for Girls in Makhanda (Grahamstown), Eastern Cape, invites applications for the position of Dramatic Arts Teacher.

    THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

    1. be a committed, dynamic, caring, innovative and motivated educator with a thorough knowledge of the IEB Dramatic Arts Curriculum.
    2. have experience teaching Grades 8 and 9 Creative Arts (Drama) as well as Grades 10–12 Dramatic Arts.
    3. have a university degree and professional qualification.
    4. bring practical skills that will enhance the co-curricular drama programme - school productions, arts and play festivals.
    5. take a leading role in inspiring and growing students’ talents in classwork, as well as through small and large productions.
    6. have excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, students and parents.
    7. have an understanding of and a willingness to grow the unique teaching partnership between DSG and St Andrew’s College.
    8. be willing to participate fully in the life of the school and in co-curricular activities.
    9. demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school, along with the core values of the school.
    10. share the values and vision of DSG around transformation, diversity and belonging.
    11. be SACE certified.
    12. have experience in the performing arts.
    13. have an advantage with technical skills and experience.
