Director Grant Management and Administration at University of Venda

Requirements 

• A minimum of an Honours degree in a commercial qualification. A Master's Degree shall be an added advantage.
• The candidate should further possess a minimum of eight years relevant management experience.
• Proven knowledge of the South African higher education landscape inclusive of policies as well as the legislation governing the sector.
• Good proposal writing skills.
• Networks within the sector as well as funding agencies and regulatory bodies. Extensive experience in project management is essential.
• Project development, management, monitoring and evaluation.
• In possession of a valid driver’s licence.  

Duties 

• Provide strategic leadership in grants management to the university community.
• The incumbent shall be expected to lead the grants administration and management team by providing strategic leadership to the department.
• Manage and support the various grants planning, implementation, reporting and auditing processes for the University
• Identify and develop policies, procedures, and strategies to optimize grants management and administration processes.
• Ensure that grants are implemented within the perimeters of the agreement with the funders.
• Manage deliverables as well as deadlines from funders to ensure that projects are timeously completed and reported on.
• Develop new stakeholder relationships as well as maintain existing relationships with current funders.
• Manage both financial and physical resources of the team they lead.
• Provide training of staff on grants management and reporting requirements.
