    Data Quality Officer (Tshwane)

    MIET AFRICA, a regional NGO, requires a Data Quality Officer to work on the Adolescent and Young People (AYP) Programme. MIET AFRICA is a sub-recipient of NACOSA, a principal recipient of the Global Fund grant, for the grant period ending in March 2025.
    Successful candidates will be based in the Tshwane in Gauteng for the period of their contract.

    Key tasks:

    • Assist with data entry of record-level client data into database.
    • Review captured data and ensure up-to-date database and reporting.
    • Conduct data quality assurance checks on record-level client data.
    • Communicate with project teams on best practices and recommendations relating to good data quality.
    • Perform data quality checks on monthly reports submitted by data captures on the Excel reporting template within five days of submission.
    • Communicate data queries to project teams, receive corrections to queries within a week of communicating the query and keep a log of the queries and how they were resolved.
    • Obtain guidance from relevant managers in cases of uncertainty about reporting requirements or other issues.
    • Stay informed of best data practices.
    • Attend compulsory training (in-house and external) and identify further training, as relevant to the job, to maintain and increase professional knowledge and skills.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Tertiary qualification/three years of relevant experience
    • Strong computer literacy, including MS Excel
    • Two years’ experience in data verification/quality assurance
    • Training in M&E
    • Attention to detail
    • Aptitude for, and interest in, numbers
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Logical thinking,
    • Ability to work independently
