Services to be provided:

• Lead person responsible for the technical design and assisting with architecting of data and integration solutions.

• Development and delivery of complex data and integration solutions.

• Assistance to other data engineers in the team to ensure that they are able to deliver on their requirements and resolve technical impediments.

• Technical guidance and support of existing products and platforms within the data environment.

• Collaboration with the Team Leader and Africa CDO regarding data strategy, planning and delivery of strategic data initiatives.

• Collaboration within the data team to help bring about improvements and efficiencies relating to the technical data environment.

• Collaboration with global PwC development and product teams to facilitate solution delivery and planning.

• Collaboration with our security and risk teams to ensure that deliverables meet PwC and industry standards.

• Implement systems to monitor data quality and integrity

• Ensuring that technical tasks are correctly outlined, assigned to the most appropriate technical resource and delivered according to requirements (quality control).

• Senior mentorship to staff within the data team, technical coaching, and assisting with staff performance development and evaluation.

• Assist with defining technical standards and team procedures.

• Assist with the documentation of the data landscape and enterprise data model.

• Assess potential technical products and services that can enable our data strategy and improve our data capabilities.

• Assist the Team Leader with budget estimations, technical and resource requirements.

Scope of services included:

• Strategic and technical team management tasks that arise from planning and collaboration with the Team Leader and Africa CDO.

• Delivery of assigned tasks as captured and assigned in the Data Engineering team’s product backlog or approved and assigned through a supported Africa Technology product line backlog or approved and assigned through the helpdesk solution by the Team Lead.

Scope of services excluded:

• Any tasks not specified in the Data Management team’s product backlog or supported Africa Technology product line backlog or helpdesk, unless agreed with the Team Lead.

Approach:

• The position will report directly to the Team Leader.

• Projects and work tasks will be assigned through the Africa Technology scrum delivery process as prioritised and approved by the Team Lead.

• Adherence to PwC technical best practices and standards.

• All work tasks to be recorded, managed and delivered within the PwC standard work management platform (Azure DevOps).

• Adherence to PwC software development and release processes including, but not limited to, change and release controls, security, risk and governance.

• Maintenance of professional relationships and communication with key stakeholders.

Deliverables:

• Contribution to technical data strategy, standards and processes.

• Data environment and enterprise data model documentation.

• Delivery of strategic and operational data projects according to local and global PwC technical standards and delivery processes.

• Product and environment support tasks as assigned through the product backlogs and helpdesk.

• Service Line project tasks as assigned through the Africa Tech Product Line backlogs.

• Data Engineering team project tasks related to internal projects.

• Technical documentation of solutions.

• Technical test cases.

• Technical input into delivery plans.
