    Data and Analytics - Manager: Data Management

    Job purpose:

    We are looking for a manager who can support us in building out our data management service offering. You will contribute technically and strategically to the Data and Analytics client engagements and internal projects. An important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You'll also identify potential business opportunities for EY within existing engagements, and escalate these as appropriate. Similarly, you'll anticipate and identify risks within engagements and share any issues with senior members of the team.

    Client responsibilities

    • Participate in and own data management and governance engagements, with a technical execution role around assessment, design and implementation of leading practice data management frameworks.
    • Work effectively as a Manager, delegating responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
    • Help prepare reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
    • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
    • Build strong internal relationships within EY Advisory Services and with other services across the organisation

    People responsibilities

    • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
    • Contribute to people-related initiatives including recruiting and retaining Data and Analytics professionals
    • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills of staff
    • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

    Preferred experience

    The person needs a solid grounding in data management, with experience in broader governance, risk management, operating model design and consulting preferred. The person further needs a good understanding of the design, development and implementation of data analytics and analytics driven solutions covering the entire spectrum from basic analytics to advanced analytics such as predictive modelling, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Lastly, the person needs 2 to 3 years of experience in managing teams

    Data management, specifically

    • Data governance
    • Data architecture
    • Data modelling and design
    • Data security
    • Data quality
    • Enterprise risk services with a specific focus on data and IT
    • Organisational governance principles and frameworks

    Project risk:

    • Robust understanding of program and project management practices
    • Familiarity with a typical systems development life cycle
    • Proven business process/analysis skills
    • A broad appreciation of business processes, data structures, IT applications and infrastructure, IT processes, and governance and internal control principles.

    Data analytics

    • Quantitative skills - This could include statistical, econometrical, mathematical skills etc.

    Working knowledge of:

    • Descriptive/ informative analytics
    • Predictive analytics
    • Prescriptive/ decision making analytics
    • Analytical skills
    • Social media analytics
    • Risk & control analytics
    • Process analytics
    • Operational analytics
    • Financial modelling
    • Risk scoring
    • Risk modelling
    • Previous consulting experience preferred

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum B.Sc / B.Com Honours with focus on quantitative skills, financial engineering, mathematical modelling, data modelling, IT.
