    We have an exciting position for a Logistics Coordinator , who will be responsible to provide management to the warehouse operations team through safety leadership, coordinating receiving, storage, issuing, dispatch and dispose of spares throughout the operations.

    Kumba Iron Ore

    We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

    Job Description
    As a Logistics Coordinator your responsibilities will include:

    • Manage Health, Safety and Environment to achieve zero harm in the Warehouse
    • Managing and oversee the receiving, storage and distribution of products, scrap and disposals in accordance with company policies and procedures
    • Initiating, co-ordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
    • Managing Stock control, delivery times and transport costs and reconcile with stock inventory and related systems
    • Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers
    • Improving and developing business performance, within the constraints of cost, legislation and rising environmental
    • Co-ordinating staff and ensuring all activities are executed according standard operating procedures

    This role is in the Supply Chain department at a Band 6.10 level reporting to the Superintendent, Supply Chain.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • Degree Logistics/Supply Chain management
    • Valid South African Driver’s License
    • Computer Literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP)

    Experience:

    • Have an understanding of the Mining Sector
    • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a supply chain/ warehousing environment
