    Consumer Business Lead

    Description And Requirements

    We are currently looking for a Consumer Sales Manager Southern Africa who is responsible for further development and managing the total consumer and retail partner business across the region.

    You will report to the General Manager based in South Africa.

    In this leadership role you will:

    Develop and execute Lenovo Consumer and Retail strategy, including strategic joint business planning, quarterly business review cadence and executive engagement with key consumer partners and Distributors

    • Formulate and execute a comprehensive consumer business strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
    • Identify market opportunities, trends, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain competitive edge.
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and achieve sales targets.
    • Establish strong relationships with key partners, and stakeholders to drive business development and secure strategic partnerships.
    • Monitor market dynamics, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and adapt sales approaches accordingly.
    • Set clear targets, KPIs, and performance metrics to measure the success of the consumer business division.
    • Quarterly/half yearly business plans for key retail accounts to include complete range selections, volume targets by week, in-store demand generation activity plan and full marketing mix
    • Have full ownership of P&L of the Consumer business
    • Develop and manage the consumer business division's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to drive revenue and profitability.
    • Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and implement strategies to optimize costs and improve overall financial results.
    • Engage with customers at all levels including senior management to completely understand their business drivers
    • Work closely with marketing team to drive improvement in Lenovo brand health metrics among consumers
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging, compelling content, and effective marketing channels for consumer products.
    • Utilize market research and customer insights to identify target segments, improve product positioning, and enhance the overall customer experience.

    Your responsibilities as a People Manager:

     

    • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing consumer business team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
    • Provide clear direction, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback to team members to ensure individual and collective success
    • Lead by example, set clear performance standards, provide feedback in a respectful way, and actively manage low contributors
    • Develop talent pipelines and succession plans to build a strong and capable team for future growth.
    • Ensure employees understand how their work contributions to the Lenovo strategy, market success and the organization goals
    • Ensure a positive performance climate, listen to employees, address their issues and help employees succeed in Lenovo’s matrix environment
    • Own team cadence structure to optimize revenue and profit achievement, early identification of opportunities and challenges, and deliver a predictable business forecast

    Essential skills and experience:

    • At least 15 years of working experience, out of which at least 10 years as a people manager
    • Experience within the Consumer and Retail segment, IT hardware industry experience and PC sector experience would be preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred Prior
    • Experience in P&L ownership
    • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
    • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and build strategic partnerships.
    • In-depth knowledge of consumer market trends, customer behaviors, and competitive landscape in the technology industry.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, develop talent, and drive a high-performance culture.
    • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial targets
