    Clear Project Coordinator in Financial Reporting Group

    Job description

    The Financial Reporting Group (FRG) is a Sub Management Unit (SMU) within Professional Practice. FRG consists of several Subject Matter Resources (SMR) who assist the Assurance business across Africa with complex accounting matters on their engagements. These SMRs are client facing staff with specialised skills which are primarily used to assist with the risk management process on audit engagements (IFRS pre-issuance technical review and consultations).

    In addition to this, FRG is further responsible for the following:

    • Drafting formal and second opinions and advice on the application of accounting principles
    • Providing accounting training to clients (Financial Reporting Update and client specific requests)
    • Provide accounting training to EY Staff (Trainee Accelerated Learning Platform and Executive Update)
    • Coordinating and hosting the Excellence in Integrated Reporting Event
    • Developing thought leadership
    • Contribute to Global Publications and subject matter groups (IGAAP etc)
    • Managing the IFRS Accreditation Process
    • Running the IFRS desk on call facility
    • Benchmarking engagements
    • Represent EY at several committees established by with key stakeholders such as SAICA.

    Overview of role description
    Overall objective of the role – To support and report directly to the FRG Leadership on all FRG initiatives, with extensive focus on monitoring activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Take lead in all administrative aspects for the FRG department and provide support to the FRG Leadership including setting up meetings, taking minutes and tracking and communicating actions.
    • Coordinating and monitoring of logistics, communications and arrangements relating to key events such as the Financial Reporting Update and other client events
    • Manage and monitor the IFRS desk line duty roster
    • Act as administrator of the FRG SharePoint site
    • Assist in preparing key monitoring reports including IFRS accreditation, QMT reports and time spent by team
    • Coordinate logistics regarding distribution of through leadership, publications and communications
    • Prepare slide presentations for various meetings with leadership and training sessions.
    • Extraction of data and reports across the various firm databases including Mercury, PACE, Canvas, Consultation system, EY Leads/Success factors etc.
    • Maintain IFRS pre-issuance reviewer allocation list
    • Collate information for the Manager and Partner quality performance process
    • Monitoring and reporting on the status of key projects to the FRG Leadership
    • Preparation of communication in relation to key FRG projects and events
    • The role is expected to constantly change as quality processes becomes evolve.

    Competency and Personal Attributes

    • +/-5 years’ + experience in project management.
