    Civil Maintenance Engineer.INT CIA.Civil (Technical)(G53301)

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate, reporting to the Manager Civil Maintenance will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

    • Life cycle planning of assets. 
    • Achieve high level of availability, reliability and operability of infrastructure/assets with minimum cost to contribute to business sustainability and profitability.
    • Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
    • Ensure that maintenance contracts are aligned to ACSA requirement to comply to stakeholder and related legislative requirements to ensure continuous operations.
    • Identify and apply viable technology and strategies to improve equipment efficiencies and lifestyle costing.
    • Ensure continuous improvement to various infrastructure in the department to increase equipment reliability and stakeholder satisfaction.
    • Keep current with latest equipment, technologies and maintenance methods to ensure best practice.
    • Ensure ACSA maintenance contracts are in place.
    • Manage overall governance and provide input into contract specifications. 
    • Ensure effective and compliant contract management and that work is executed in accordance with contract (time frame, SLA, Scope, quality, budget, contractors).
    • Forecast and review cash flow on monthly basis. 
    • Determine project costs (part of feasibility study). 
    • Execute expenditure approval within DLA.
    • Manage stock levels according to minimum quantities advised and order when necessary. 
    • Review of monthly and quarterly stock counts
    • Perform quality inspection on maintenance work done and implement/propose remedial action where necessary. 

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

    • Bachelor’s degree (4 years – 480 credits) in engineering/BSc Civil Engineering is Essential
    • 6 years' operational Engineering (maintenance/ facility maintenance) is essential.
    • Professional knowledge of theory and techniques in a specialized field, or knowledge of a number of fields acquired through tertiary education and /or considerable experience.
    • Registration as a candidate PrEng will be advantageous.
    • Minimum 2 years of consulting/design experience and minimum 2 years in construction experience will be advantageous.
    • Structural and pavements engineering will be advantageous.
