Case Management Officer: NRL Immunology - Centurion at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To inform and request permission from referring doctors and patients to perform appropriate additional / add-on tests not initially requested. To ensure authorisation is obtained from the patients’ medical aid scheme before the laboratory performs a special test that requires medical scheme authorisation. To ensure accurate capture of the correct ICD-10 code and patient information in Meditech for additional tests and accurate billing.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics  (Required)

Required Experience:

• Customer care experience, Experience: Clinical coding in accordance with ICD, Experience: Debt Collection, Experience in a medical environment, Knowledge: Google and Google Mail, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: MS Word and MS Excel, Knowledge of the SAMA Billing Guide

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile reports to provide the necessary management tools., Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath., Perform administrative duties to ensure client satisfaction, improve turnover and limit bad debt., To ensure that any modifications made to patient tests and accounts are accurate.
