    Broadcast Manager (JBH North)

    Description

    Interpersonal and team relationships

    • Build, support and maintain interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.

    Personal development

    • Complete Individual Development Plan. Attend learning and development courses. Participate in peer and team learning initiatives.

    Budget Compliance

    • Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimize waste.

    Broadcasting

    • Manage the various broadcast support services including but not limited to archiving, make-up, wardrobe and laundry.
    • Manage the production, post production, programming and operations of current affairs and special projects programming content.
    • Ensure that operational schedules and deadlines are met.
    • Ensure that such programming adheres to eNCA policies, SOPs and guidelines.
    • Ensure that media laws are not infringed upon.
    • Efficiently manage human and financial resources relating to this role.
    • Maintain quality control of all broadcast activations and/or projects.
    • Stimulate team productivity as well as collaboration key counterparts.

    Management

    • Recruitment of staff for roles related to this function.
    • Training, mentoring and performance management the Broadcast
    • Management team.
    • Administrative control of this function including management of budget,
    • leave, technical requirements etc.,
    • Resolving and/or escalating problems should they arise.

    Liaising

    • Liaise with third party partners to monitor and ensure delivery of
    • broadcast partners’ contractual commitments.
    • Providing support to the Management team.
    • Maintain a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

    Technical

    • Have a thorough understanding of the broadcast systems used by the channel.
    • Provide technical support within context of this function.
    • Co-ordinate and oversee outside broadcasts as required.
    • Ensure that staff are trained on use of relevant technical systems.

    Qualifications

    • National Senior Certificate - Essential
    • Diploma Journalism/Broadcast Media - Essential
    • Bachelor’s Degree  Journalism/Broadcast Media - Recommended

    Experience

    • Journalism/Broadcast - 10 years - Essential
