Automation Specialist - Mogalakwena at Epiroc

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Adhere to environment, health and safety programmes and requirements
• Support the client on all machines as per the service contract
• The Automation Specialist must make himself fully conversant and comply with the relevant standards, procedures and legal requirements pertaining to his work
• Conduct regular audits on equipment
• Generate parts and service sales
• Follow-up (expediting) of audits and orders
• Conduct operator and maintenance training when required
• Keep record and report breakdowns, call-outs, spares usage etc. for all equipment in his area of responsibility and for the interest of continual condition monitoring purposes. Assist the Maintenance planner in compiling reports and feedback to the maintenance planning system
• Machine Pre-delivery service
• Commissioning of equipment
• Troubleshooting
• Quotes to the client when required
• Build strong relationships with the client
• After hours standby as and when required
• Proper housekeeping
• Ensure to comply with the customer's procedures and safety
• He must adhere to all relevant Policies and Procedures, Engineers Instructions, Engineer's Work Practices, Codes of Practices and Engineering Standards pertaining to his area of responsibility
• Expected to assist in other areas/divisions in the Company when needed

Educational Qualification:

• Grade 12

Required Skills and Capabilities:

• Strong Technical background 
• Qualified as an artisan with experience on drill rigs
• Good Technical Background.
• Knowledge of Epiroc Machines.
• Computer Literate.
• Customer Relations.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to work shifts.
• Interpersonal skills to work with the client, customers and suppliers and to work as part of the Product Support team
