Assistant General Manager - Witbank at Glencore

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the strategy and business plan for the Operational Areas.
• Ensuring the capability, optimal allocation and optimisation of people, financial and other resources.
• Process Management – ensuring process knowledge & competence of the team, ensuring that process controls are in place and that good standards and best practice are implemented and shared within the Complex and across the Group.
• Leading by example in demonstrating the correct behaviour and recognition on the ground and setting the tone for the culture and positive climate at the Operations as well as ensuring effective communication.
• Overseeing Risk Management and maintenance of Standards.
• Internal stakeholder engagement and assisting the GM with external stakeholder engagement.
• Reviewing, resource optimisation and monitoring of performance and putting in place mitigation plans where necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Tertiary qualification in Mining, Engineering or Metallurgy.
• A business qualification will be an added advantage.

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Operations Manager (both Opencast and Surface) or Engineering Manager or equivalent role.
