    Area Marketer - KZN

    Job Description    
    RCL foods is on the hunt for a qualified Area Marketer for our Vector Logistics Divsion, the role will report to the Regional Sales Manager and will be based in Kwazulu Natal . The successful incumbent will need to be an effective marketer to area customers by maintaining regular contact and providing relevant solutions based on a clear understanding of the customers’ business, the macro environment and Vector products. The scope of responsibility will be the Management of +- 20 field staff employees and a Store base +- 80. 
    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric is essential.
    • Valid Drivers license is required.
    • The successful candidate should currently reside in Pietermaritzburg or surrounding areas
    • Knowledge and experience calling on Spar, Franchise, Independent and Wholesale stores is essential
    • Knowledge and experience in managing perishable products will be an advantage.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • PC literacy including basic Microsoft office (especially Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Customer Engagement
    • Where not defined, establish an effective route plan to achieve maximum call rate efficiencies each day for the quarter.
    • Conduct research, preparation, and planning to achieve the relevant objectives for both Vector and the customer. This includes:
    • analysis of the customer’s micro (business objectives, operational capacity, storage facilities, wastage, etc) and macro environment (trends, competitors, economic climate, etc).
    • analysis of Vector products and capabilities so that the right solutions can be matched to the gaps or opportunities found in the customer analysis.
    • Set SMART call objectives for each customer (at least 2 per call).
    • preparation to handle potential objections.
    • preparation of questions to gain insight and lead customers to the right solution.
    • securing the necessary resources to demonstrate to the customer the relevant solution (e.g., products needed for demonstrations, financial tools, product brochures, etc.)
    • Based on the above analysis, put together a quarterly planner that shows potential revenue and new line listings, by customers, to deliver against set targets. Where relevant use the IT system to assist in planning quarterly.
    • Follow up on previously sold solutions and present new opportunities based on real insight from the research and analysis done.
    • Take orders of new line listings and other relevant solution products.
    • Launch new products into assigned customers.
    • Conduct planned promotions with assigned customers.
    • Business reviews with customers and depth of distribution.

    Feedback

    • Provide accurate and quality feedback to the supply chain, principals, and other relevant functions when required as well as when there is pertinent information (i.e. competitor activity, market intel).

    • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritizing, and self-development.
    • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
    • Inform relevant parties in advance in the event of tasks or deadlines not being met, the potential risks thereof, and provide appropriate resolution.
    • Support and drive the business core values.
    • Manage customers' and principals’ expectations and communicate appropriately.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives.
    • Champion training and development of self and others through utilizing available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with national training specialists.
    • Participate in and drive regular performance appraisals and ensure that own targets and goals are clear and achievable.
    • Maintain a basic appreciation and awareness of employee relations climate and ensure corrective action is taken where required in line with relevant legislation and company policy.
    • Self-management and responsibility of company assets provided e.g., company car, laptop, cell phone.

    • In-store activations and demos
