    Human Resource Business Partner - Group Marketing

    Job description

    Key Purpose

    Provide strategic support to Discovery Marketing’s attraction, development, engagement and retention of top talent to deliver on the division and Group’s strategic ambition.

    To be a trusted coach and advisor to Executive level clients on human capital matters.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Ensure alignment of HR objectives with business strategy and objectives
    • Define the HR strategy, operating model and key objectives, including, but not limited to development, retention, succession planning, engagement and performance management in support of business goals
    • Support the division in achieving Employment Equity (EE) targets
    • Ensure the Discovery Culture, Values and Leadership Charter are embedded within the division
    • Ensure that all employees are treated equitably and fairly
    • Preparation and presentation of reports focusing on present and future key trends, including suggested solutions to People at EXCO and all other levels when required
    • Define and implement high level employee wellness and engagement strategy for the division
    • Ensure adherence and alignment across the various businesses and internal stakeholders in terms of legislative requirements
    • Facilitate the development of dashboards and tracking mechanisms to analyse and measure outcomes, ensure resource alignment and engagement
    • Support management of each sub-function to achieve goals and targets
    • Ensure adherence to departmental budget

    Personal Attributes and Skills

    • A thorough understanding of the HR value chain;
    • An ability to deal with ambiguity and continuous change;
    • An ability to deal with complex issues as well as migrate between strategic and operational level requirements;
    • The ability to influence and negotiate with impact across divisions and teams at all levels, and with external parties;
    • Creative thinking with the ability to successfully implement innovation;
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for executive-level internal and external delivery and
    • A commitment to excellence.

    Education and Experience

    • Matric
    • Relevant 3 year degree and / or post graduate qualification
    • 5 – 8 years’ experience as an HR Manager / Senior HR Consultant in a large corporate entity
    • Track record of strong strategic HR support is essential
