RCL FOODS is on the hunt to find a senior manager to join our Sugar & Milling Division as head of our Malelane sugar mill based in Mpumalanga. Formerly known as TSB, RCL FOODS’ Sugar business unit is one of the largest Sugar businesses in South Africa, producing approximately 30% of the country’s total sugar output.
In this role the Manufacturing Executive will assume overall responsibility for running the sugar mill, reporting to the RCL FOODS Sugar & Milling Manufacturing Director. Minimum requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or national diploma in Engineering, Business Science, Commerce or related fields.
- A minimum of 8 years post-qualifying work experience as a senior manager in a sugar or other high-volume/heavy-engineering manufacturing or Industrial environment.
Additional skills and qualifications:
- A post-graduate qualification in leadership, business or similar.
- Membership of a senior engineering institute or other relevant professional body.
- Sugar manufacturing and/or Sugar industry experience.
Knowledge and experience:
- A proven leadership track-record based on sound values.
- A desire and clear ability to work within a collaborative and connected team environment to achieve stretching results.
- Solid commercial and financial acumen.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- A clear bias for action.
- Good communication skills.
Key Deliverables:
- Formulating and executing operational strategies for your mill.
- Delivering production and business targets, and aligning operational capacity with demand.
- Implementing operational efficiency and cost savings programmes.
- Optimising operational efficiency and reporting KPIs.
- Leading relevant technical project implementation.
- Driving productivity improvements.
- Building strong employee relations.
- Leading people and managing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Setting and implementing safety, health and environmental programmes for the mill.
