    Pricing & Market Intelligence Manager

    Job description

    Purpose of the Job/Role Intent:

    • To support the development of pricing and margin optimisation methodologies to increase customer and product margins. To analyse product and pricing data, prepare reports and make recommendations supporting strategic & tactical decisions.
    • To contribute towards and enable the administrative support and office management efficiency and compliance of the BU to team members and customers. Ensure effective functionality of the FMS and SAP systems to support business.

    Minimum qualifications and experience required:

    • Completed Bachelor Degree in Finance
    • Honours will be an advantage
    • Minimum 7 year relevant experience

    Key responsibilities:

    • Pricing strategy development and Innovation
      • Develop and contribute to new pricing strategies to be implemented to optimise margins
      • Contribute and ensure new pricing strategies are implemented successfully
      • Identify, develop and implement marketing plans and strategies to optimise short & long term profitability
      • Enhance product pricing and service offering to customers
      • Identify and assist with introducing new pricing methodologies to new customers and customer segments
    • Marketing and Competitive intelligence
      • Enhance marketing intelligence capability
      • Identify potential customers in the different marketing segments for our product and service offering and hand over to Market Development
      • Track and identify competitors marketing strategies and contribute towards adapting strategies and offerings
      • Identify best practices and latest product and service innovations and develop business case to implement in our business
    • Pricing strategy, calculations and methodology
      • Ensure pricing strategies are implemented and adhered to
      • Recommend all pricing for new business witin governance framework
      • Calculate monthly pricing per product and customer / customer segments to be loaded by pricing admin team
      • Inform and train sales and Market Development teams on pricing methodologies and profitability
      • Recommend and approve price increase for lubricant products based on international price changes and exchange rate movements
    • Profitability calculations and reviews
      • Continuously review and track profitability per product and customer to ensure margin targets are met
      • Recommend price changes or divestments for customers or products not meeting margin targets (complete business cases)
      • Calculate profitability and DCF’s for all new customers or products
      • Recommend and ensure optimised working capital levels (final and manufactured products
    • Performance Management
      • Develop and enhance various management reports and dashboards to assist business in tracking performance, kpi’s and risks
      • Create marketing tools, methodologies and frameworks based on best practice and experience
    • Project Management
      • Project manage various optimisation projects (revised business models, pricing methodology changes and marketing strategy changes)
