    Commissioning Intern: Afrikaans Channels

    Job description

    M-Net Afrikaans Channels seek to appoint a suitably qualified individual to assume the role of Commissioning Intern: Afrikaans Channels, to ensure correct transmission of content across Channels e.g. programming, advertising, various transmission elements, sponsorships, branding and marketing material. This position reports to the Head of Programming and will be based at our offices in Randburg.

    • All Business units within M-Net
    • Outputs
    • Support and assist the Commissioning Editors and Commissioning Assistants
    • Originate, develop and commission innovative new programmes
    • knowledge and understanding of recent broadcasting output, audience, schedule, presentation, and strategic vision
    • Excellent understanding of legal/compliance guidelines
    • Track delivery op episodes and programmes, and FCC sheets and music cues (SAMRO norm)
    • Generate UID numbers for episodes and promos
    • Update and share UID information with relevant parties
    • Maintain episode/promo status document
    • Communicate late deliveries, or QC problems to correct parties.
    • Follow up with production houses
    • Resolve non-TX issues

    Experience and Qualifications required.

    • 3 year degree or National Diploma in Media Studies or TV
    • Excellent command of the Afrikaans language (Read, write and speak)
    • Computer skills
    • Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
    • Knowledge of SYNERGY will be advantage
    • Knowledge of PARADIGM will be an advantage
    • Editing skills and Final Cut Pro will be an advantage
