    Payroll Manager (Stellenbosch)

    Job description
    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Managing a large payroll which includes accurate preparation, processing and running of monthly computerised salaries on the Sage payroll system;
    • To provide shared HR administration and payroll services to the business and take accountability for correct, timeous, and legally compliant capturing and maintenance of employee data, leave administration and other payroll related tasks;
    • Extensive dealings with all Divisions on payroll related matters concerning input, output and query resolution;
    • Resolving salary related queries with employees;
    • Striving for continuous improvement.
    • Supervision and Performance Management of all Payroll Officers
    • Ensuring that the Payroll Department is operating effectively
    • Enhance administration processes and systems to ensure process efficiency and optimal client service delivery.
    • Ensure integrity of employee data

    Key Requirements
    EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

    • Minimum of Matric, but a tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
    • Minimum 5-8 years within HR environment with particular focus on payroll and HR administration.
    • Minimum 3 years managerial experience in a payroll environment
    • Excellent knowledge of employees’ tax, employee benefits (pension, provident fund and medical aid) and all other statutory requirements a prerequisite
    • Computer literate and proficient on MS Excel (Advanced – including Pivot tables) and MS Word
    • Knowledge of Sage and human resources system will be a distinct advantage
    • Proven knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
    • Sound Accounting knowledge
