The HR Coordinator will support all aspects of Human Resource processes for employees at Pioneer Academies. The Coordinator will also develop and maintain effect Human Resource tools for the all Pioneer Academy Schools in Johannesburg, South Africa. He/she will report to the Director of Talent Management at Pioneer Academies.
This Person Will
HR Employee Relations:
- Provide guidance to employees on all HR policies and procedures;
- Coordinate and execute an innovative on boarding and off‑boarding process for staff, while keeping all processes and documents up to date;
- Serve as a point person on all questions and concerns related to benefits, payroll and general staff queries relating to HR;
- Provide support to managers during disciplinary and contractual matters.
- Facilitate retirement/pension programs, execute process for enrolling and renewing employees in benefits as well as terminating benefits for outgoing employees;
- Review benefit programs, review performance of programs and coordinate education sessions for staff in conjunction with service providers;
- Maintain database of employee details including employment paperwork (such as employee agreements and benefits waivers forms, SACE qualification letters) and employee data that affects attendance, payroll, and compensation;
- Ensure the Company has complete up to date records of employee status, benefits, certification, job function, terms of employment, and tenure;
- Partner with the Finance Manager in ensuring payroll administrator receives accurate and timely information;
- Conduct background checks and sexual offenders checks as needed;
- Compile information for routine reporting and analysis (e.g. salary analysis, retention, and benefits)
- Work with members of the Talent Management team as needed, particularly the recruitment and hiring team;
- Supports the Director of Talent Management as needed;
- Other duties and responsibilities at the behest of your direct manager.
- You have 2-3 years working in a human resources department
- You have a relevant higher education qualification
- You enjoy working with people and finding innovative solutions
- You have strong conflict resolution skills
- You have a deep understanding of South African Labour Laws and processes
