    The EMEA Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team provides real estate transaction expertise, capital investment program management and facility maintenance and operation across multiple countries (current 20). We partner with suppliers to ensure quality, innovation and scalability with Amazon’s business and utilize customer driven feedback to continuously improve and exceed employee expectations.

    The Role

    This position will be responsible for the Real Estate and Facilities of Amazon’s South and North Africa & Middle East corporate portfolio and reports to the EMEA Portfolio Planning Senior Manager. The Area Manager, Real Estate and Facilities (“Area Manager”) must be comfortable discussing strategic matters and operating at a tactical level, simultaneously acting as an internal ambassador, educator, analyst, solutions architect, implementer and cost controller.

    The Area Manager is an experienced and vibrant professional who excels within an entrepreneurial culture – providing vision, leadership, and communication – but not afraid to dive into details. Having passion and in-depth knowledge of Property Management and Facilities Management Operations with a financial focus, is critical. This individual also has experience developing, implementing and managing a number of scalable programs and is an excellent communicator.

    The Area Manager is responsible for building relationships within the wider GREF team both at an EMEA and Global level, with key vendors and internal business partners is critical as is the ability to operate within a fast-paced and complex environment.

    The Area Manager must also drive cost management in the Area – review and agree on budgets and ensure these are adhered to, working with Procurement and service providers to target reduced delivery costs where possible.

    This role requires that the Area Manager knows each of their sites within the Area and all of its key details, complexities and required critical dates and events to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the lease, the landlord, the sites key strengths, issues, compliance needs and any critical decisions and recommendations from a portfolio management perspective. The Area Manager must be able to report on this and have relevant documentation ready to go through this. The Area Manager will work closely with and be responsible for coordinating all colleagues and partners (i.e Project Managers, IT, Security, Tax etc.) to align on the project delivery and ensure this is properly managed and delivered.

    Overall Responsibility

    • Ensure the GREF vision, standards and policies are implemented, managed and adhered to within each area.
    • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders by monitoring and listening to feedback, delivering bespoke reporting for business critical elements for example occupancy, new site launches and facility improvements.
    • Ensure that the buildings for which responsibility is held are presentable, clean, safe and an acceptable environment for occupants and visitors.
    • Ensure that the Facilities Management and Real Estate Services are performed and delivered in accordance with contracts, proposals and strategies.
    • Ensure that all relevant financials by country, building and projects are managed in accordance with budgets, compliance and specific timelines.
    • Report all matters relating to the sites, risks, projects, budgets and details to the EMEA GREF Portfolio Planning Senior Manager when needed to and as agreed in the reporting cadence and structure.

    Basic Qualifications

    The Profile

    • 7-10 years experience in a facilities and real estate environment
    • English fluency
    • Excellent communicator with CRM expertise
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Space & Occupancy Management skills
    • Auto CAD
    • Advanced financial management and/or accounting qualifications
