Financial Accountant at Medtronic

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

• Support the Financial Manager with processing and financial information for relevant financial reports.
• Assist the SSA business functions with processing and reviewing financial information as well as adhering to compliance requirements.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Assist with annual statutory financial statements for trading entity – Medtronic Africa (Pty) Ltd as per IFRS and local statutory requirements as well as with preparation and support of relevant tax calculations and submissions.
• Assist the SSA business functions by providing financial information and reporting relating to the relevant profit and cost centres
• Prepare and assist year-end audit information for outside, independent auditors as well as internal auditor.
• Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analysing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
• Prepares special reports by studying variances; preparing budgets; developing forecasts.
• Coordinate and communicate between local finance and relevant shared service centers
• Ad-hoc training on users on financial interfaces and/or support systems.
• Support/drive ad-hoc finance projects as they arise  

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant
• Post qualification experience
• Good working knowledge of both local and US GAAP
• Experience within a large, dynamic multinational company.

CORE SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Proficient in the use of business software; including but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, SAP.
• Able to work well with people.
• Continuously looking for improvement in processes, reporting and other aspects of the business.
