    Forklift Operator

    Job Description
    Join Lactalis at our Ice Cream Plant in Cape Town as a Forklift Operator. Successful candidates must have Grade 11 or equivalent.     Required Skills

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • At least two (2) years’ experience as a Forklift operator.
    • Valid forklift licence.

    • Responsible for forklift battery charging area
    • Ensure that task are completed within the given time frame
    • Maintain good housekeeping, including adherence to the stacking procedure.
    • Assist with normal general tasks within the department if not driving. E.g. packing of orders, cleaning, stock count, checking of orders, writing down of rework pallets etc.

    Millwright - Ladismith

    Job Description
    Join Lactalis at our Ladismith Plant in the Engineering department with the main responsibilities is to ensure that inspections and basic maintenance tasks on utilities plants and equipment. Successful candidate need to have at least 5 years' relevant experience within engineering field, FMCG environment, must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance, experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment and full adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills

    • N3 or trade test qualified in Millwright or Mechanical trade or Electrical trade
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the FMCG production environment
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
    • Experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment
    • Proven PLC knowledge to facilitate fault finding
    • Knowledge of Drives and specialised sensors, etc.
    • Knowledge of ASI valves, 24v control Top valves
    • Self-motivator with good planning and organising skills
    • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime if required

    • To ensure that an OEE of between 80% and 85% is maintained at all times.
    • Complete maintenance schedules on or before required dates on the Pragma maintenance system.
    • Complete preventative maintenance schedules and make use of data to improve preventative-maintenance
    • Feedback on job cards and machine history to be accurate and on time
    • Maintain a two-way communication with department managers and supervisors
    • Provide training to machine operators in order to service machines during normal production runs

    Job Description

    • Execute planned deliveries in the most cost-effective method.
    • Monitor deliver crew throughout the day and ensure that deliveries are carried out on time, with the least amount of cost and the lowest possible risk to the business.
    • Ensure impeccable communication to our customers, internal and external, and business partners with challenges and changes to the plan for all parties to be always aligned.
    • Ensure a high level of communication of any issues and challenges that you come across that you are unable to resolve within the prevue are reported and escalated as per the reporting structure to ensure they are lessened or eliminated.
    • Dispatch delivery team and vehicles according to the plan.
    • Debrief delivery team and vehicles upon return and draw upon their experiences in the field to suggest and action improvements, whether it be in the distribution department or other parts of the DC to better the delivery results and performance of the business.
    • Must without fear or favour correct unwanted behaviour and report wrong doing which is beyond his or her skill set for correction to the department head and escalate matters according to the organogram should the behaviour not change or the act be of a serious nature.
    • Execute approved improvements and changes and ensure continuous follow up to ensure that these practices continue to bring the best benefit to the business.
    • Ensure all equipment for the delivery team is prepared, dispatched, and accounted for upon return from their deliveries.
    • Oversee yard management which includes vehicle debrief, stock and paperwork debrief, diesel fill, vehicle washing, shunting, plugging in and switch over from diesel to electric, vehicle preparedness which includes
    • Logging and attending to mechanical failures.
    • Make sure that there is flawless hand over communication between shifts in order for smooth operations of the business and safeguarding of the employees and company assets at all times.

    Required Skills

    • Grade 12 or equivalent with 5 years’ experience in FMCG environment in a supervisory capacity.
    • Must have proven track record of improving their business within their line of work.
    • Tertiary qualification will be an advantage.

    Job Description

    • Join Lactalis at our offices in Western Cape and take on the challenging role as the Payroll Accountant. You will be responsible for the overall supervision of 6 payrolls (Executive, South Africa; Botswana; Eswatini; Mozambique and Zambia) as well as accounting and tax responsibilities

    Required Skills

    • BCom in HR / Finance / Accounting
    • 5+ Years’ Payroll experience, including African payrolls (knowledge of a payroll system essential)
    • Technical skills and expertise for legislation pertaining to payroll, PAYE, Expats salary, compliance audits with regards to SARS/COIDA (including internal/external audits) - value added controls 
    • Ability to work independently, under pressure and with a team.
    • Sound analytics skills to perform work with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong technical skills with Microsoft office applications, proficiency in Excel required

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Accountability for coordinating and controlling of timely and accurate processing of all input documentation according to company policies and procedures for 6 monthly payrolls on Payroll Focus, with the support of a team of 3 Payroll Administrators.
