    Maintenance Electrical Engineer

    Job Purpose

    To Execute the Services Engineering activities in the project and main interface between product development Engineering team (Rolling Stock) and manage both the Integrated Services Readiness (ISR) and Maintenance Teams on deliverables during the product development phase.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure all Work Instructions (WI), Maintenance Instructions, Maintenance and Safety Bulletins including all other associated Risk assessments necessary are produced to the relevant standard and presented for sign off in a timely manner.
    • Produce clear and concise technical documentation in the form of specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety instructions and technical reports.
    • Lead optimisation of the maintenance schedule and casualty repair procedures in light of service experience and Operations feedback including (Justification of inspection periodicity, Specification of materials and tools).
    • Carrying out product/process audits of depot maintenance and casualty repairs.
    • Assist PRASA and GIBELA Front office as necessary to diagnose train defects where technicians require guidance.
    • Escort the Customer during Routine Condition Audits and undertake product and process audits as required ensuring the integrity of the fleet and maintenance processes.
    • Manage the production and maintenance of the Bill of Material (BoM), and WI.
    • Manage the production of the preventive & corrective & overhaul Life Cycle Cost (LCC).
    • Continually review all Maintenance, Reliability, Overhaul and associated documents to ensure all are up to date and correctly formatted.
    • Assist in parts identification, creation of DTR numbers and obsolescence management.
    • Produce, update training material, and perform training as trainer to PRASA & GIBELA team and any other GIBELA training needs.
    • Act as a technical expert continuously develop expertise in selected field.
    • Continuously improve Training material and sustain Trainer qualification to provide Training courses to PRASA at the expected service level.
    • Obtain Training accreditation i.e. (SETA, TETA, etc)
    • Support the Hotline / Help desk service to PRASA at the expected service level.

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc or B.Eng. Degree (Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering).
    • Knowledge of rail and subsystem engineering.
    • Safety and Engineering standards knowledge, rail knowledge is advantageous. 
    • Knowledge of Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability Aspects 
    • Life Cycle Cost/ Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) experience.
    • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessments. 
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office, SAP (System Analysis Program)/GSI (Global Simple Instance) 
    • Problem Solving capacity (Technical and cost evaluation of a solution) 
    • Capacity of managing Technical Risks 
    • Solid decision making and critical thinking. 

    Special Requirements

    • Travel to suppliers including PUs, Depots countrywide, Alstom and Gibela sites as operationally required.

    APSYS Specialist X2 (Re-Advertisement)

    Job Purpose

    To drive and coordinate the deployment of APSYS across all departments within the business through animating, coordinating, and diligently challenging its impact on the site vision (objectives/KPI’s

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Define the Continuous Improvement strategy of the organization, for the current or next financial year
    • Deploy elements of the APSYS roadmap according to pre-defined maturity milestones
    • Lead APSYS assessments across all assigned departments.
    • Scheduled internal APSYS assessments to for assigned domains
    • Report APSYS maturity to departmental leaders monthly or as required
    • Identify best practices and develop standards for site implementation
    • Facilitate training on APSYS & Lean methodologies
    • Ensure that all APSYS visual management boards are standardised
    • Ensure all EPU teams are trained on APSYS and Visual Management (APSYS Board)
    • Support deployment of lean manufacturing as per defined roadmap

    Minimum Requirements 

    • BTech/ Degree in Industrial Engineering , Quality degree or related
    • 5 Years experience in practicing Lean methodology in a manufacturing environment
    • International exposure or exposure to multiple workplace cultures
    •  Experience with implementation/ deployment of lean manufacturing methodologies in multiple departments/functions.
    • Ability to associate and connect multiple departments to relevant KPI’s for a systems approach to improvement.
    • Strong knowledge and interest in Data Management Systems.
    • Sound understanding of manufacturing and its support processes and systems.

    Field Modifications Operator (KZN)

    Job Purpose

    The purpose of the role is to apply modifications in manufactured Rolling Stock units already delivered by factory following the Field Modification Instruction (FMI) documents and complying with Gibela industrial and quality process.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Implementation of modifications in Rolling Stock units according to the modification file, in line with Company procedures especially in relation to Industrial and Quality
    • Undertake reworks, retrofits, repairs and/or other kinds of works to perform outside manufacturing facility as specified by the Manager according to Organization Chart
    • Carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies
    • Ensure all correct tools are available prior the works, validity and certification of relevant tools
    • Ensure all correct materials, components and parts prior the works are available
    • Populate relevant modification follow-up data base
    • Guarantee information flow within the field modification team
    • Perform quality self-control
    • Write a clear and detailed report on the work done (Job card)
    • Drive company vehicles when required and applicable
    • Attend regular team briefings
    • Read reports and manuals as and when required

    Minimum Requirements 

    • Grade 12 or N3 Certificate
    • Trade Tested - Mechanical or Electrical 
    • Industrial and technical background with 2 to 5 years’ experience preferably from working in a railway or similar industry
    • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems

    Storekeeper Manager

    Job Purpose

    Receive, Store, Pack and deliver material to ensure project satisfaction (material availability). In charge of physical material flow (goods reception, warehousing, line replenishment, packaging, shipping)

    Warehouse Supervisor

    Job Purpose

    • Oversee Logistics operators’ team (Gibela employees or external provider), take care of the execution, physically and in the information system, of the counts & movements of materials for a dedicated warehouse area. Align physical flow & system flow.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure that employees operate in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
    • Ensure adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety regulations within the warehouse and associated areas
    • Ensure the material availability, integrity & delivery on time to all feeding regional depots and repair center workshop line.
    • Manage the physical material flows in area of responsibility (reception, put away, kitting, mirror area, shipping and transfers) to always keep physical and system flows aligned
    • Work closely with Warehouse Key User to manage the stock in the ERP system according to the core model and to train Logistics operators
    • Monitor & challenge the performance of his area activity through Key Performance Indicators
    • Actively contribute to the Continuous Improvement activities & APSYS roadmap and continually improve the warehouse organization & processes.
    • Ensure implementation of all standard processes & golden rules in compliance with Logistic Handbook
    • Participate to the warehouse layout and optimize the storage space and ensure good housekeeping and storage of materials including preservation of items with special storage requirements
    • Perform Repairable stock reconciliations, by ensuring that a broken part is received for every good part issued
    • Manage team skills matrix and managing compliance of mobile equipment’s and lifting equipment, including Fork Lift Trucks
    • Assist with the identification and disposal of surplus and obsolete material
    • Respect any special stock management and storage regulations (chemicals, battery, …)
    • Take care of the planning and execution of transportation & logistics flows with regional depots to fulfill Sites Supply Chain requirements 
    • Analyse the Root Causes of any logistic issues and agree with the internal stakeholders and the Management of the 3PL on corrective actions. Follow up on these actions and participate in their realization

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management. Logistics or Industrial Engineering
    • Previous technical knowledge and experience
    • 3 years warehouse supervision experience
    • SAP ERP System knowledge
    • Experience in warehouse equipment’s utilisation
    • Advance Excel skills will be an advantage
