    Contracts Administrator

    NB Publishers has a vacancy for a motivated and energetic Contracts Administrator in its Cape Town offices.

    The duties and responsibilities include:

    • Drawing up contracts, addendums and other legal documentation as required
    • Constantly liaising with authors and publishers to make sure all contractual requirements and obligations are always adhered to
    • Managing the contractual process for the Contracts & Rights department
    • Filing of various legal documents on a daily basis
    • Populating and maintaining various databases
    • General support to the Head of Contracts & Rights

    The successful candidate:

    • Has a relevant tertiary qualification
    • Has working knowledge of contract law and/or experience in drafting legal documents
    • Is computer literate (in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Is fully bilingual with excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
    • Has excellent organizational abilities and keeps to deadlines
    • Has excellent administrative, project management and language skills
    • Is meticulous with incredible attention to detail
    • Is a team player with good interpersonal relationships

    NB PUBLISHERS: CONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR

    NB Publishers has a vacancy for an energetic and driven Contracts Administrator in their Cape Town office.

    The Contracts Administrator's responsibilities include:

    • Drafting contracts, addendums and other similar documentation
    • Managing the overall contracts process on behalf of the Contracts & Rights department
    • Liaising with authors and publishers to ensure that all contractual requirements and obligations are always met
    • Daily filing of contracts and other important documentation
    • Regular updating of databases
    • General support to the Head of Contracts & Rights

    The successful candidate:

    • Have a relevant tertiary qualification
    • Have a thorough understanding of contract law and/or experience in drafting legal documents
    • Is computer literate (MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)

    Digital Marketer: Social Media

    Key responsibilities

    • Write, edit, update and publish content in Afrikaans and English for social media in alignment with company culture and image.
    • Ensure all books on the publication list receive exposure on NB Publishers’ social media platforms.
    • Develop and explore new online platforms and influencers, and maintain a good relationship with the current network of influencers and social media reviewers.
    • Evaluate and manage the success and progress of social media campaigns.
    • Distil comprehensive analytics in monthly report to management.
    • Ensure contemporary approach in accordance with social media platforms’ dynamic algorithms.
    • Manage digital budget in conjunction with Publicity Manager and successfully allocate budget across books and imprints.
    • Create and implement innovative digital marketing and advertising campaigns together with the Publicity Manager targeting audiences tailored to different books.
    • Design, prepare and implement the majority of digital marketing material in accordance with brand identity and different social media platform guidelines.
    • Moderate comments (also after hours) and maintain NB Publishers’ social media platforms as a reliable place for customers, readers and prospective authors to get information and have queries answered.
    • Liaise with webmaster to link social media activities with the website.
    • Maintain an excellent professional relationship with the publicity team, publishers, editors and other key stakeholders.
    • Produce and grow the NB Publishers podcast and distribute it on all relevant platforms.
    • Share coverage of in-person book launches and events and coordinate online book discussions when required.

    Skills and competencies

    • A thorough understanding of using social media for marketing purposes in a business environment
    • Knowledge of organic and paid marketing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn (TikTok would be a bonus)
    • Enthusiasm for and knowledge of various literary genres, including fiction, non-fiction, children and youth, and schoolbooks
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Afrikaans and English
    • Good design knowledge and basic video editing skills to create social media assets for different platforms (podcast editing, production and distribution skills will be a plus)
    • Inquisitive and able to generate creative concepts
    • Strong editing skills
    • Able to capture data efficiently and accurately
    • Able to work after hours when required
    • Detail-oriented with strong planning and organisational skills
