    Transformation Specialist - Johannesburg

    What You'll Do

    • You will be a strategic leader primarily responsible for driving and managing McKinsey South Africa’s B-BBEE scorecard. In this role, you will lead the execution of all B-BBEE transformation interventions across the Johannesburg office ensuring that the firm complies with B-BBEE, Employment Equity (EE) and Skills Development legislative requirements in alignment with the firm’s strategy.
    • The key focus for the role is to develop and monitor implementation of various B-BBEE initiatives in Ownership, Management Control, Skills Development, Enterprise and Supplier Development and Socio-Economic Development elements.
    • In addition, you will act as the company secretary for the local operating entity, ensure there is an active EE Committee by designing a fair and objective nomination process for electing members, coordinating meetings, preparing reports and circulation of minutes. You will also play the role of advisor highlighting major changes in legislation, challenges, strategies, and action plans. You will identify transformation risks and develop risk mitigation plans and advise on Preferential Procurement strategy.
    • You will also be responsible for preparing and submitting all reports for B-BBEE elements, submitting the EE Plan to the Department of Labour, submitting the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) to the relevant SETA. You should also conduct the annual B-BBEE audit process and prepare the transformation budget.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related area
    • 6+ years of experience in transformation, employment equity and relevant fields
    • Proven experience as a manager
    • Background in professional service/consulting firms is a plus
    • Relevant B-BBEE and Employment Equity certification
    • Skills Development Facilitator “SDF” qualification
    • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
    • Strategic thinker: ability to see and manage 'the big picture' while driving impact on specific initiatives
    • Proactive problem solver capable of identifying issues and generating solutions
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Evidence of sound judgment, professionalism, maturity, and trustworthiness
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
    • Preference will be given to EE candidates

    • You will work directly with fellow colleagues, consultants and clients on analysis that requires in-depth market and domain understanding, data modeling and client-ready presentation material.
    • Typically the primary job responsibilities falls into these categories: day to day responsibilities include analyzing and synthesizing data on companies and industry, staffing on client engagements as a Banking or Insurance knowledge professional either remotely or on-site to solve client business problems. You will develop expertise over-time in a particular industry sub-topic or function. You will develop/codify knowledge and continuous improvement of our proprietary assets& solutions. You will collaborate with global client capability network to develop and deliver knowledge and best practices.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate or preferably PG in Business studies, Commerce, Statistics, Operations or Economics
    • 2+ years of work experience in consulting, banking, financial services, insurance or fintech
    • Strong understanding of financial statements and business concepts
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
    • Professional attitude and service orientation
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
    • Superior problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
    • Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
