    Project Manager

    Position outputs:

    • Support Transnet Property with business planning, formulating relevant concepts with early options identified in line with the
    • Transnet Property strategy.
    • Prepare a Project Execution Plan (PEP) for each project and obtain approval. The PEP consists of Project Definition,
    • Execution methodology/approach, and Execution plans.
    • During project execution, update the Project Execution Plan (where necessary) to ensure that all assumptions and
    • constraints are still valid and that the stated approach is reflective of the current project delivery.
    • Identify applicable resources (people, time) required for project execution. Where required, facilitate the appointment of
    • external service providers to follow the standard Transnet Property procure to pay process.
    • Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
    • Complete the appropriate risk-assessment (quantitative / qualitative) for the project.
    • Coordinate the development of a project budget and a corresponding project implementation schedule.
    • Take projects from original concept through to final implementation.
    • Be a hands-on manager during the project and will become familiar with all aspects of the implementation process.
    • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
    • Trace daily activities as delegated.
    • Ensure that the project is executed in compliance with all regulatory requirements, Transnet policies, standing instructions
    • and standard operating procedures.
    • Review the project plan on a regular basis such that completion of the project is achieved by the forecast completion date
    • and within the approved budget.
    • Ensure that all communication channels are effectively operating amongst project team members and operational
    • management.
    • Monitor and measure the work being executed regularly against schedule, milestone deliverables and expenditure budgets.
    • Recommend and implement corrective strategies where needed to best meet Transnet Property’s overall project objectives.
    • Prepare a monthly project progress report for delivery.
    • Ensure that all project data required for handover to project sponsors (electronic files, manuals, calculations, etc.) are
    • compiled and handed over in the agreed forms.
    • Stake holder management internal and external.
    • Support technical teams in project delivery including health and safety matters

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • A Degree/Btech in Built environment (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical)
    • Relevant qualification in Project management is a requirement or National Diploma (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) with
    • minimum 10years of experience in Project Management.
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Project Management
    • PMP is advantageous
    • Real estate or construction experience is advantageous

    Senior Specialist : Commercial & Procurement Law

    Position outputs:

    • Provide legal advice to the organisation, with a focus on revenue and procurement contracts.
    • The work will include:
    • Providing legal advice on contracts, contracting arrangements and procurement Including commercial law, providing legal
    • advice on tender processes, tender documentation and probity arrangements
    • Advising in relation to other legal documents and processes
    • Assisting to manage Competition Act compliance Framework programme
    • Establishing, managing and maintaining a legal opinion database

    • Keeping up to date in areas of law relevant to the activities and functions of Transnet Group Commercial

    Key tasks:

    • Provides specialist legal advice and assistance in relation to contracts, contracting arrangements and documentation
    • Provides specialist legal advice on commercial arrangements and commercial agreements
    •  Where applicable, manages the referral process to specialist law firms in relation to Commercial matters
    •  Holds and maintains a database of legal opinions
    • References legal opinions in ‘like’ scenarios to ensure consistency of legal advice and minimise expenditure on legal bills
    • Manages the legal aspects of any procurement and revenue generating contracts entered by the organisation
    •  Patent and trademark registration
    • Patent and trademark protection.
    •  All infringement claims successfully defended
    • Providing strategic and day-to-day competition law advice and solutions on projects and initiatives promoted by the
    • business to ensure any potential competition law and merger control implications are considered and accounted for in
    • developing new strategies, policies, products.
    • Assessing and coordinating merger control filings.
    • Cooperating with and coordinating responses to competition regulators, including in relation to the cross field between
    • competition rules and Transnet business practices.
    •  Handling competition law investigations against Transnet globally.
    •  Establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant authorities.
    • Ensuring implementation, maintenance and development of the competition compliance program, including the Competition
    • Compliance Framework and the
    • associated Guidelines.
    •  Report monthly to the GM: Commercial Law on all commercial law disputes that may pose a reputational risk to Transnet.
    •  Advising on and managing complaints to and from the Competition Commission and related litigation.
    • Provide advice to all Transnet Divisions on all Competition Law complaints and related litigation matters.
    • Interact with Transnet Executives on matters that are considered to be risk to Transnet

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • LLB, is required.
    • The incumbent is required to be an admitted Attorney or Advocate.
    • At least 10 years’ experience, of which 5 years must be with strong focus on senior management experience within a legal
    • environment in a large entity/multidisciplinary legal environment dealing with Commercial law, Competition and/or
    • administrative law field.
