    Ops Manager TradeXpress

     

    The Role

    • Applicants are invited to apply for the above mentioned position based at the Tzaneen TradeXpress.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Maintain a high level of customer service
    • Ensure the effective management of subordinates
    • Control the general admin functions
    • Reporting to Senior Management
    • Ensure compliance with Quality Control and Risk Management
    • Applying leadership skills to ensure competent and motivated staff.
    • Ensure the cost effective delivery of finished goods
    • Compile and manage Opex and Capex budget
    • Monthly variance reporting on Cost Centre
    • Control losses and write-offs
    • Maintain a high level of customer service regarding timeous delivery and queries
    • Effectively liaise with DAC and Warehouse Department.
    • Perform administration/reporting effectively
    • Manage and direct all employee activities
    • Ensure company health and safety procedures are well maintained

    Key Requirements

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Related tertiary Diploma or Degree
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial position within a warehouse and distribution environment
    • Previous Transport / Deliveries management experience will be advantageous
    • Effective management of industrial relations
    • Demonstrate the ability to influence activities outside direct area of control
    • Demonstrate the ability to plan, lead and manage daily activities
    • Ability to meet demanding deadlines
    • Good communication and administrative skills
    • An action & self-driven, motivated person.
    • Ability to work overtime and on weekends
    • Detailed SAP / Micro-soft package knowledge
    • Strong people’s person with relationship building and leadership competencies
    • A team player with the ability to lead and manage people with diverse backgrounds

    HSE Risk Controller - Greenpark

    The Role

    • Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based in the Regional Distribution and Sales Department at Green Park, Cape Town. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Manager.

    Key Performance Areas Include (but Are Not Limited To)

    • Regional Site Risk Management, which includes:
    • Ensuring and assist the Regional DC’s with implementing and maintaining the Distell Risk Management Program to ensure compliance to relevant Group Safety & Fire Prevention Standards; OHS Act; COID Act; Municipal & Building regulations; SABS codes; etc.
    • Emergency Preparedness and Response planning
    • Conducting HIRA’s (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment), audits and investigations
    • Ensuring standardisation of documentation and correct use and understanding by all sites with best practises applied
    • Liaising with all departmental heads on Occupational Health & Safety, Risk and Environmental related matters
    • Performing related administration, which includes:
    • Detailed recordkeeping to ensure traceability and legal compliance with regards to Occupational Health & Safety, Risk and Environmental Standards
    • Ensuring standardisation of documentation and correct use and understanding by all sites with best practises applied
    • Recording accidents, incidents and losses whilst ensuring that the required reporting, investigations and corrective actions are taken by relevant parties
    • Effective administration and reporting of the Regional Insurance claims, including meetings with accident committee
    • Assist sites and management on Opex and Capex requirements as well as relevant specifications
    • Co-ordinating all Occupational Health & Safety, Risk and Environmental related training in order to adhere to relevant legislation (e.g. OHS Act NEMA, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001: 2019 etc.).
    • Assist in maintaining Quality Management Systems and Standards (ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, BRC, IFS, etc).
    • Assist with special investigations with relevance to Risk

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • A minimum of Grade 12 and SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification
    • Relevant working experience in a similar capacity within a Health & Safety and/or Security & Risk field.
    • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. OHS Act, NEMA, etc.) and risk control standards.
    • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO, HACCP; etc.).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective interaction with individuals on all levels.
    • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
    • Competence in the use of SAP would be advantageous.
    • Financial acumen, along with proven ability to plan, organize, co-ordinate, facilitate and evaluate initiatives
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
    • Must be pro-active and assertive to ensure compliance to rules and regulations.
    • Sober habits.
    • An unendorsed, valid driving licence (Code B) and own or reliable transport to and from work.
    • Ability to cope with the inherent physical demands of the position.
    • Willingness and ability to perform standby duties and conduct site and emergency visits after hours.
