    (655) Economic Policy Analyst - IERPD

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Conduct relevant research, contribute to the development of policy positions and strategies, and influence the global economic and financial agenda for the benefit of South Africa and the region. 
    • Provide support to the Division Head and Senior Policy Analysts in managing projects, including logistical arrangements for seminars, meetings, conferences, and workshops. 
    • Provide support to the Division when it represents the SARB in working group meetings of the Group of Twenty (G20), BRICS and other forums where relevant. 
    • Provide inputs into the preparation of briefing documents and speaking notes for the governors and senior officials attending international meetings. 
    • Provide inputs and conduct research for purposes of writing speeches.
    • Liaise with National Treasury, other relevant government entities and specialist SARB departments to ensure consistency with the domestic and international agenda. 
    • Build strategic relationships and networks with relevant counterparts in international forums.
    • Develop briefs and makes presentations internally as well as to departmental forums and other departments in the SARB on topics of interest in the international forums.
    • Provide support in managing international cooperation and partnerships on behalf of the SARB, including diplomatic relationships. 

    Qualifications

    Job requirements

    To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

    • a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or an NQF 7 equivalent; 
    • a minimum of five to eight years’ job-related experience in an economic or global macroeconomic policy and research environment; and
    • knowledge of policy development formulation and international financial institutions.

    (657) Integration Specialist x2 - BSTD

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Define own work plan and deliverables with guidance from the manager as well as conduct and prioritise delivery of own outputs against the work plan.
    • Prepare and deliver work that reflects the range of methods and practices in integration.
    • Develop and implement integration processes and interfaces, including third-party and perimeter/boundary integration, in support of the current environment and new project initiatives aligned with Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
    • Analyse and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications and designs.
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of integration systems, message flows and integration patterns through analysis, coding, writing clear documentation and problem resolution.
    • Interact with vendors on the implementation, configuration and maintenance of integration-related platforms (including hardware and software components).
    • Comply with policies and procedures, and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives to ensure effective availability, protection and integrity of data assets.

    • a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification (NQF 7); and
    • five to eight years’ job integration-related experience.

    The following would be an added advantage:

    • working experience (design, development and administration) in IBM integration technologies, such as IIB/ACE, MQ, Datapower, API Connect, Cloud Pak 4 Integration and redhat openshift;
    • working experience (design, development and administration) in Oracle integration technologies – Oracle SOA;
    • working experience (design, development and administration) in globalscape;
    • extensive experience in Unix and Linux; and 
    • extensive experience in Confluence, JIRA and Bitbucket.

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Provide application functional support to the SARB applications for users in the SARB Group, namely the SARB and its subsidiaries.
    • Drive business analysis initiatives for SARB applications enhancements, from the initiation to the implementation of projects.
    • Facilitate workshops and consult with business owners and other stakeholders with regard to problem definition and the identification of business requirements/needs.
    • Review business processes and procedures, analyse business requirements/needs and associated data and identify possible solutions.
    • Expand the scope and feasibility of solutions and develop the supporting business cases.
    • Facilitate user requirement management throughout the system development life cycle.
    • Manage change requirements and supporting specifications, provide functional specification and manage acceptance testing.

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Provide input into the departmental strategy and operational plan and communicate and clarify the vision and strategic goals of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and BSTD within the division.
    • Develop strategic and operational plans for the division aligned to the BSTD strategy and manage the implementation thereof, including the building of capacity and capability for the division.
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of divisional policies, procedures and systems requirements and ensure alignment with the related functions and organisational value chain.
    • Align, co-ordinate and manage resources to deliver on the objectives for the division, which covers the agreed portfolio of IT solutions for CMD and CSD.
    • Influence and manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally to ensure the effective delivery of solutions.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to the division and ensure compliance with the relevant governance frameworks.
    • Clarify performance expectations and roles for the team within the division, prioritise work, manage resource utilisation and the quality of deliverables as well as control costs.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • an Honours degree in Business Management, IT or an equivalent qualification; and
    • a minimum of 10 to 12 years’ experience in an IT environment, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing teams.

    The following would be an added advantage:

    • a Master’s degree in Business Management, IT or an equivalent qualification; and
    • knowledge of IT cybersecurity and currency and facilities management.
